Ok, i just got my Brian Crower stage 2 camshafts (int & ext) and my Jim Wolf Technology Non slip cam gears, I was installing them when i read that on turbo charged engines JWT prefers that you advance the exaust 2.5 degrees and retard the intake 2.5 degrees... is this safe to do on a stock sr20det redtop? or will i bend valves, that is deffinetly the last thing i want to do, if its possible to do please help im not too technical and every thread ive seen about this doesnt have pictures.
Can someone pleeeeeease post pics of what your cam gears will look like at TDC with the cam gears adjusted to the 2.5 degrees... Pictures would really help.. i dont want to bend valves...again. here are some pix of the products im using... i know they say to put the gears at the mark "A" but i just dont wanna risk it..

If jwt says to change the degree to 2.5 on each than I would do it... but every motor is different. When it comes to cam gears they really shouldn't be adjusted unless on the dyno, of course unless specified. As far as valves hitting when you assemble everything and turn engine slowly by hand. If it all clears you will be fine. The only other way you will hit valves are weak valve springs and get valve float or weak lifters and stuff will get jammed. Put the cams at 10 o'clock intake, 12 o'clock exhaust. Let the dyno tell you where is best for degrees. It also depends on your turbo and where you want your torque and hp curve.

He is building an SR not a KA. Be careful telling someone they have to "shave " thier cam. Take a little time to read the entire post before chiming in with incorrect info.
