OK guys,

I have asked you if the pulsar ca18de harness will work on an SR20DET, I got different opinions, But lets say, i got it hooked up and it is 100% guaranteed to work, CAN I use a JWT Ca18de(PULSAR ECU) to run the SR20DET ENGINE.

my budy bought a fwd sr20det but didn't get the harness or the ecu, I am wondering since I have a jwt ecu and a harness if the ecu will run the sr20det engine, not sure if timing is different or any thing else that could prevent us from using the ca18de(pulsar ecu) ecu on the sr20det.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??

Thank you,

i dont think that it will run it...would probably get more help on this in the SR section. Someone might have tried it already. Probably only a hand full of people here have messed with a fwd sr...sorry i can't help ya man

Pulsar Gtr, the ca18 and the sr20 are totally different in every aspect of the word. The SR20 motors love timing and the CA18's do not. The CA18's ecu will make an SR20 run lazy as a dog. Furthermore, it will be a useless pain in the tail to reconfigure the CA18's harness to accomodate an SR. IMHO, I would get an SR20 competent wire harness from an SE-R or an NX2000, buy a bluebird DET off someone and call it a day. Waaaayyy too much work messing the ca18de stuff and only to be disappointed.

All these questions are out of curiousity, when it comes to wiring or electronics I am up for the job, but the question was if you got to use the ca18de harness and ecu and if every thing is hooked properly, would it run normal? or just will have some serious problems.I completely understand you point where to go and get an nx2000 wiring harness and sr20det ecu, that is my first option, but I thought it would be a fun chanllenge and interesting project to get the sr20det running on ca18det ecu.

Very good chances that I will either get a jdm sr20det harness and ecu, or as I said nx2000 harness.

Thank you,

Okay, good you understand! Timing curves are all wrong and as far as the wiring, if you understand nissan wiring, then I guess you can probably get away with it. But I'm 99% sure that thing will give you nightmares trying to make it run correctly.

jeez. its so wierd that the nissan ecus wont run different engines, but a lot, and i mean a lot of honda ecus are interchangable. my friend has a p28 (?) civic ex sohc vtec ecu running his h22a4. crazy stuff i tell you.
