Acutally it would run lean. If the program is for 72lb injectors--it would seem that the ecu would compensate for the larger injectors by leaning it out 27% or whatever it would need to to have the injectors firing what would be a stoich mix. If you have the cu compensating for what it thinks are 72lb injectors on what are actually 50lbs that flow less, you will run a bit leaner.Saying it would run lean is like saying putting 170cc injectors is place of your factory 270's would run rich. If the ecu is programed for one thing--you dont want to put less in the motor than what its programed for. This is the same as using a stock computer tuned for 270's. What would you have to do to get it to richen up? Put smaller injectors in it? No--put the sr 370's in it. Same principle with the JWT ecu programmed for 72lbers but running 50 lbers.
Also--the JWT ecu that people most commonly use if programed for 72 lbers and the cobra maf. This means that the edu has a subtractor circuit on it to lower the reading of the MAF. If you were to use this without using the correct MAF, you could seriously cause the car to run like crap-or worse yet. Blow the motor. One last thing, if you are asking this--it may be a good idea for you to send it back to jwt and get a reflash. its 100 dollars fi you send it back to them. If you sont want the downtime--you can get them to send you the chip only and install it yourself. It costs the 100 plus a 250 core charge thats refunded when you send the old chip back to them. But like I said--this may have a subtractor circuit in it that would mean you need a cobra maf. Trying to play guessing games with your stock motor isnt smart., so play it safe and send it back to jwt.why are you wanting to run 72lb injectors on you stock motor?50lbs are more than enough for the stock motor at about 330-350 rwhp.
