Juste noticed... G35x 2007 can take only 900 pounds!!!

Before going shopping this afternoon, I noticed when I opened the driver's door the little sticker indicating how much weight the car can take... I looked at it 3 times before believing what I saw... it can take only 900 pounds!!! So, I weight 220, so if I take 3 friends in the 200 area, it will leave me with a few pounds for the trunk!!!

My previous Camry 4 cylinders could take 2000!!!

What if I install a hitch for my 4 bikes (I have kids!!!)

Seriously I've never noticed it. I don't think they calculating the passangers in the amount of weight. But to be honest I am not sure at all. I look into it or maybe somebody will chime in and help us out. I know I tried close to that much weight when I bought a car. I have 2 big boys working for me. I mean biiiiig. They weight about 300+ each. I wanted to see how well the G takes the weight and how roomy it is. I should of take a picture man that was funny. There was no problem to get in but hell to get out. The guy was holding into the headrest to get out from the car. I was worrying about my headrest for awhile.

maybe the camry can take 2000 lbs , but it would move like a 18 wheeler filled to the brim with cement , and it might wear the engine \ transmission ALOT!

900-1000 lbs is a pretty good number to be SAFE though , i think they are trying to be safe, not into getting tons of money out of us. ... *cough* BMW ... (probally the sticker says .. max limit of weight in car... infinite .. just visit the dealer after your done)

Do you know if 900 LBS includes the weight of people in the car or not? If so, I guess I will go to nautilus and buy lettuce to loose some weight!!

Has someone installe a hitch in order to put a bicycle rack (4 bikes)? If not, I guess I will have to sell my kids through ebay!!

... also forgot to add about Gimli's comment about the Camry... I guess you are quite right, I would be scared to death to take 2000 LBS on a big hill!! I might loose the thing or get stuck in the middle of hit with fire on the engine!!!

i know 1 thing i didnt buy this car to fill it up wit all kinds of crap i have a SUV for that and me being 6'2 250 its safe to say there isnt much room hehind me so ill never go over that 900 pounds

I checked the label myself. You are right. It is 900 lbs with all the passangers and the weight. Next time I go shopping for something I'll tell my wife she has to walk home. what do you think how would that go? All at the same time. He He He

When the 2 big dude from my shop was sitting in there they lowered my car pretty bad. I did not drive it that time. But man you should of see them they not that tall. About 5'8 but well over 300lbs.They filled up the second row.

To be honest I don't think I ever go over that limit. Myself is just under 200 my wife is 120 and my son 60. I think I am ok.

I swear i make my car GO UP when i sit in it.. i only weigh 140-150 , i think im safe... unless... some buddies want a ride home
