Just wondering who is responsible to pay for a repair from a common problem listed in the tech service bulletin? Is it the customer or Nissian?

Demends, look into the Warrenty information. If it is Brakes...oil...yada...that stuff that wears over time then it is your, but that isn't really a PROBLEM.

If your car is under warrenty, they would pay.

Welcome to NICO.If theres a service bulletin stating it needs to be replaced, NISSAN pays...

There have been a few, whats the specific issue you are talking about?

It was a manual temp control unable to adjust with a service bulletin out for my altima 2002. Took it to the dealer and I thought they would fix it but they said my extended warranty would cover but I had to pay the $100.00 deductible. I was just checking if anyone knows how Nissian deals with service bulletins. Thanks Michelle

You should call corporate customer care and find out from them if dealerships should be doing TSB work for free. That way you know for sure and can stick it to the dealer when they try to run you around.

TSB repairs are only covered under warranty if the applicable warranty is still in effect. 3/36 bumper to bumper (minus specifics listed in the owners manual), 5/60 powertrain, 8/80 catalyst. You car is clearly out of warranty on the described issue, so it would fall under customer responsibility or any extended warranties that you have purchased. TSB's are not a "known issue", it is a guide to technicians that if you have a problem that falls within a certain set of parameters, this is the proper repair to correct it.
