Cancel it quickly -- two of the Infiniti dealerships in Phx (Pinnacle and Peoria) are "Van Tuyl" owned and Scottsdale is 49% owned by the same group. This is a mega-dealer out of Kansas. I made the mistake of buying two cars from them and the customer experience absolutely sucked in both instances, (mainly when with the F&I guys) and the dealer adds they expect you to pay for is beyond rediculous (come-on... $3,000 is adds? Nitrogen in the tires for $200?...)
So we bought our EX35 (wifes ride) at Pinnacle in Feb. as the EX just came out and there was zero selection at any of the dealers, and they wouldn't dealer trade. They were the only dealer that had the exact color and option packages she HAD to have. Since I can buy Nissan products via the VPP program, pricing is never an issue (until the ADDS reared their ugly head the next day, in the F&I offices - a whole 'nother post for another day).
When we walked in, I didn't even think to ask if they were a Van Tuyl dealer, as I knew Peoria was, and I figured owning one Infiniti store in a city was sufficient (wrong - their motto must be: lets screw ALL the people in Phoenix - not just those on the west side...).
I asked about the Infiniti Elite warranty and they told me that they don't even offer it; they ONLY sell their own. I have a neighbor that was an F&I manager for one of their Nissan stores and he told me to stay FAR away from that warranty - stick with Infiniti. So that's what I did. It took an hour to convince them I would NOT be buying their warranty. It took THREE hours to get out of the dealer, and this was AFTER our car was prepped and waiting (we selected it the day before) AND it was a CASH deal with NO financing. Insane. I would have walked except for my wife.
Infiniti of Superstition Springs is NOT a Van Tuyl dealer, and the GM at Scottsdale has maintained majority ownership and HE will not offer the Van Tuyl warranty, even though that group owns a substantial chunk of the dealership. I applaud him for that. So get your warranty from either place.
Bottomline - I will buy a horse or a 15 year old used Kia from an illegal immigrant on a street corner in South Phoenix before I will walk into a Van Tuyl owned dealership again.
