Just took the qx4 in for service and got new brake shoes for the front and now the dealer told me that my back upper and lower trailing arms bushing are torn/deteriorated. They said it is gonna be $900-$1100. Which is quite expensive for a college student. I was thinking of doing it myself but I cannot find the parts for it. Did anyone in here ever replaced theirs. BTW it is a 2000 with 129,000 miles.

Check out the following thread if you're thinking of doing the bushing replacement yourself...

It's a pain in the butt, but with your mileage and the age of the truck, it sounds about right to have them replaced.

If you couldn't replace the brake pads yourself, I wouldn't try this project.

question: do you feel anything funny when you drive? like dangerous shaking?

if not, then ignore what they are saying.

I know how to replace my brakes, but I didn't have the time to do it myself, School and work is in my way. So I will probably replace it during spring brake.

When I go over bumps or offroad, I hear a squeaking noise in the rear end. When I went to inspect the rear trailing arms, it is quite noticeable that the bushings are worn and the bolts are rusted out.
