I been driving my M for about 3 years and last year i ran into some pretty bad luck. Last winter some driver lost control and send me swerving on Lakeshore drive on that dangerous S turn. i was driving on the right lane going south and the guy on my left lane was doing about 40. keep in mind the speed limit is 25 on this turn and that day it was raining and later on the temp dropped so it was very slippery. The guy was driving a crown vic and when he taped my rear bumper my M's front bumper hit the right barrier. then my car bounced of and swerve all the way to the left cutting infront of traffic while it was doing a 180. it came to a stop when the rear right side hit the left barrier. This happend so fast that i didnt have time to react. i just remember turning my steering wheel and pressing on the brakes but i knew it was pointless it was too slippery to get any traction and i had the snow tires on.
There was an endless number of part that had to be replaced here are some of the ones i can member: front, rear bumper, headlight, two tires and two rims, a bunch of parts from the rear suspension, and the vdc module went out the cost of the vdc and labor was close to 3,000 wow. well the grand total was close to 12,000. The shop did a great paint job even though it took then close to two months. and luckily there wasnt any frame damage. here are some picsBut the sad part is that this past summer some idiot ran a stop sign in a school zone and hit me sideways. this guy shouldnt of been driving he had no insurence, suspended license, he had his baby in the back seat, and was talking on his cell. i got out of the car ready to brake some bones but a narcotics patrol car saw everything and stopped by so i cooled down. that was a bad move of my part. so be ware M45 road rage does exist .Well the guy hit me sideways and my car hit the curb and messed up the suspension on the rear right wheel for the second time. they had to replace two tires and two rims again. they got me a new door and fixed the molding. i took my car to the same place so they did a great job.this time it took them two weeks. luckly there wasnt any frame damage. This time the grand total for repairs was a lil over 5,500. here are some pics of accident #2
Luclky my M still handles great but im really looking forward to getting the new M45x but i cant let my baby go maybe next year. im in love with the 03 04 body style. Just wanted to share my M's history with u guys even though its depressing. I hope this doesn't happen to any of u guys.
