what's up guys? I'm new to this forum, and wanted to know if anyone ever tried transplanting another motor into the G35? Understanding that the average turbo kit cost about 6k. wouldnt it make sence to try to put maby a Skyline or Supra motor in the car? Just asking?

Yes, it's been done before. But, in order to make more power than a VQ turbo kit, you'd need to do the motor swap AND boost it. If you want to be different, its a good idea. Best bang for the buck is a single turbo kit for the stock VQ, though.

Do some searching around. I've seen everything from an LS small block, to an RB26, do a VK56 from a Titan.

Stillen SC 4kVortech SC 5kTurbotechnics single turbo 5kJWT twins 7kAPS twins 8k

Install for the SC are around 1k, single turbo 2k, twin turbo 3k. Then you have tuning...around 1k. Not a cheap mod...

I'm trying to be different. I wanted to know if anyone tried to swap maby a 2jz or 1jz motor in the g35. I'm doing the homework to see which is a better route to go
