I'm new 'round these parts and planning to stay a while, so I thought I'd make a formal introduction....

My name is Summer, I live in South Carolina, work at Jiffy Lube (30 dollar oil change anyone?), and I'll be 18 in November.

My current car is a '93 Ford Probe GT which I've been actively involved with for the past 2 years (my 10,000 posts on probetalk.com should prove that :D). I'm now trying to sell it as I'm extremely tired of having an automatic FWD.

For quite a while I've also been infatuated with Mazda RX-7s, and in addition to being an active member of rx7club.com forums and attending club meetings, I had myself an '89 TurboII project car. I recently sold it (yesterday actually) for an assortment of reasons but still have much love for the rota-powa. ;)

My 240sx will be a champagne '96 SE. A friend of mine currently owns the car and when he offered to sell it to me I jumped at the chance, as I had been looking around for one and didn't think I'd be able to afford an S14. It's a 5-speed (of course), in great shape...has a few more miles than I'd prefer (121k), but I reckon I'll be alright.

I've already bought a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs and a GReddy strut bar for it, and I'm crossing my fingers that my Probe will be sold next week.

I think I've rambled long enough. :poke

Is Summer a guys name, or a girls name, I"m just curious, it doesn't really have any bearing either way, but Ash1ly or whatever is a guy, Ash, so I was just curious. : )

I've never come across any guys named Summer, but I guess it could happen... :D

At any rate, I'm a girl.

Ah, welcome, you make girl number 5, not to single you out or anything, : ) try not to be scared off by all the rude males we have here ( including myself ) we tend to run off just about everyone, it just seems the girls leave faster. : ) You are definitely making a good choice, although why you would sell your TII I can't fathom. : ) Do you plan on swapping an engine or turboing the KA? Because I'm afraid after a TII you will be disappointed with the stock 240s performance. Enjoy your day!

Haha, trust me, I won't be ran off by anyone. I tend to play right back at y'all anyway. :D

My TII actually didn't have a motor. I bought it from a shop who'd had the car brought in because the original motor died. Turned out, the mechanics there didn't know their @ss from a hole in the ground when it came to rotaries, so the owner of the car just signed the title over to them and told them to deal with it. Sat there for about a year until a friend of mine located the car, told me about it, and I went and bought it for $500. Damn good deal considering '89-91 TIIs are hard to come by.

Anyway, the engine block sitting in the car was out of an '86. Since '86 RX-7s weren't offered in the TII model yet, naturally I didn't want a half-assed '89, so I sold the block (which was later found to have a blown apex seal anyway) and was just kind of letting things sit around until I found a decently priced '89 motor.

I have however driven a heavily modified TII quite a bit, so I do know what kind of power they put down, and yes, it'll take a bit of work for the 240 to catch up. :D

But in answer to your question, yes, I am planning on putting a turbo on the KA eventually. Boost is just too damn much fun, and it seems to be a very feasible project.

I work at J-Lube because I wanted a car-related job, needed a job regardless, put in an application with them 2 weeks after I moved from Oregon to SC and got the job.

It's not my number one choice of places to be employed, but it works for now and sometimes it's actually a bit educational. :)

Definitly, I'm trying to get my sister into cars, but its like pulling teeth. She does however like my car. Sometime before Christmas I'll teach her to drive/drive stick, she's gonna get into cars whether she likes it or not.

Oh yeah, welcome to the board. It'll be great to have a girl that knows her s*it, and can BS.
