.......as some may or may not know, my car has been in the body shop for some body work (car was keyed in a few places), so while it was in the shop, i paid to have the headlights upgraded to the black sport housing as opposed to the clear factory ones. i was a little skeptical about the swap because i didnt know if there was any difference in the mounting between the sport and non-sport lights so i took a chance and it was a success!i went there yesterday to check up on my cars progress and everything went through smoothly. i should have my car back this tue and i will post before and after pics.

I'm trying to do the same but cannot find the sport headlight housing. Where did you get yours?

Good luck 5. I'm sure your car will come out great (I know you missed it).

Looking forward to the pics.

$2600 to change the color of the headlamp surrounds? Seems like a poor investment any way you look at it, doesnt it?

Woh, $2600 for sport headlights? Damn, upon searching eBay... I think you could have pieced them together for less than half that.

Hope you enjoy them!

Ebay will be a good source if you want to swap out for the sport housing. You can probably get a pair in good shape for around $1k.

It's funny what you can do when you don't need to allocate 5g a year for broken parts. The sport lights on an 06+ look great, but usually come with the AFS drivers and self leveling as the sport models all have Xenon.

It is far easier to add a high quality set of Xenon. I had to replace a set of these for a friend recently and the original install was done poorly causing premature bulb failure. Although the Halogen type bulb reflecting lenses have slightly different refraction capabilities but they look pretty good.

Oh I'd be doing it strictly for the looks of the black housing. I already have Xenons. 1000+ for the hardware though...this mod will wait for a while.
