After pulling my strut/spring assembly and dissasenbling it to replace the top strut mount insulator i have reasembled and installed it using the same position on the top and bottom plate of the strut in reference to the spring and strut shaft as original. The problem is that the camber of the tires is obviously off just by looking at it. the car does not pull but the off camber could easily wear harder on my tread and it does affect my handling. would a simple front wheel alighnment correct my camber. I have the factory angles still in my records? Since it doesnt pull am i correct to assume that i dont need a 4 wheel alighnment?

the struts and springs are the same old ones. the only knew things added are the strut insulators that go to the top mounting plate. this is the one with the three studs that bolt to the body. the ones your mount your strut tower brace to. i was just wondering if anyone else had to get their camber adjusted after pulling their strut assembly?

the only place your camber would change is where the strut mounts to the steering knuckle. is it adjustable at the knuckle mount? anything you did at the mount plate should not affect your angles

on the strut the sterring nuckle mount has two bolt holes. the bottom is exactly the size of the bolts themselves and the top one is slighty more oval horizontaly but only by about 2-4mm. I have thought that perhaps even that small amount could cause a visible change in camber but a guy that i work with that used to be a mechanic and the manager at auto zone both said that whenever you pull the front struts you need to do a front wheel alighnment. i was just wondering why it would change and how a front wheel alighnment could correct the camber?

that small amount is enough to change your camber significantly. it depents on the set up weather or not you need an alignment. in your case yes since there is a knuckle adjustment. you should have your alignment checked
