Just Turned 1000

Hey Gang,

I took the Coupe out for a stroll last night and broke the 1000 mi mark. It is time to put in the synthetic oil and let it stretch it legs a little. I have always been a Penzoil man, but thinking about going with Mobil 1 this time.

mobil 1 is a great choice and i made my first oil change at 2200 mi and switched it to mobil 1 fully syn. since then, i've driven from DFW to houston and back, made 13 runs on a 1/8mile drag, and done normal daily driving to and from work etc. at 3100 miles my oil still has that light gold color to it and hasn't began to blacken yet. expensive, but not so bad if you do your own oil changes. the filters at the dealership are only six plus tax so it will save you a ton of money if you buy you mobil 1 in bulk and do it yourself. only thing outta the ordinary when changing your oil on the a/c 3.5 is you have to remove the front passenger side tires and remove one clip (really easy to do) to get to the oil filter. good luck

don't be silly, removing the front right tire is a waste of time. the filter is accesible with the tire on.

I changed to mobil 1 5w30 @ 1000 as well. will do every 3000 from here on out

Yea i just changed mine last night. I put it up on the rack and just moved the right front splash gaurd outta the way and unscrewed the filtet from there. Changed the oil and fliter myself for $50.

when are we suppose to do our first oil change? i have 3000km and havent done it yet... i was told 5000km...

oil change at 1000 is crazy fast

I check the color of my oil, most say every 3000 miles but i am going to do it every 2000. you want good cleen oil so that your engin dosen't start to build up crap in it. (MOBIL 1 is the way to go)

I get mobil 1 full synthetic extended performance. In my last 2 cars i changed it every 12k. Ill change the oil every 10k in the a/c and the filter every 3k.
