did you block off your cold pipe and the tube for the iac?

the cold pipe is the pipe that attaches to the throttle body. The hose that goes to the iac is on the same pipe. The hose should be connected by the throttle body as well.

thats weird because i read a few write ups on how to run a boost leak test and no one ever mentioned blocking off the cold pipe and the iac.

if you dont block it off, air will definitely go in through the throttle body plate. And it is normal for air to come out of the pvc valve as long as it comes out from the correct side and not the other side.
