Hey guys, great forum!! I have been trolling your board for about a year waiting for a great deal to come on the Rogues. I just purchased a Rogue S AWD and was wondering if anyone has put leds into the black fog light fillers on the S models. I saw the winner of importfest's Nissan Maxima had put a strip of $5 computer led lights under his headlamps. From afar it looks kinda like an Audi. I thought it was kind of a cool. I guess the lights could be available from someone like http://www.superbrightleds.com (hope that link worked). Would I be able to just plug into the fog lamp wires and buy the nissan fog lamp switch? Tell me what you guys think.

Also, concerning Hid lights, should I be looking for a H11 kit that does hi-beam and low-beam and has 2 ballasts? Is it really plug and play or should I have installed? I did read the previous post regarding Hids but it didn't really have step by steps. Can anyone recommend a kit around 5000K in Toronto? Thanks for your reponses.

Your Rogue does come pre-wired for fog lights. Read more in this thread:

You do need to realize one thing however, the fog lights only turn on when the headlamps/parking lamps are on. If you just want your LED array on for effects, then you will have to wire it in separately.

Welcome to the forum. In addition to the link provided by philipa_240sx ... this might come in handy as well: Front fog lamp removal/installation: FSM section EXL - See section 10 and Page EXL-123Fender splash shield removal: FSM section EXT - See page EXT-22

Yep! There are several plug and play kits on the market. For everything you ever wanted to know about installing H11 aftermarket lights... check out this thread:

Hello everyone,I have my '09 SL for three weeks now and just decided to install the front fog lights. I've followed the thread provided by Philipa_240sx very carefully and managed to install the fog lights but for the life of me I can't seem to find the pre-wired plugs mentioned anywhere. I've looked behind the windshield washer tan as well as around it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There are 2 plugs, one on each side behind the bumper. You can see the drivers side one here, it's taped-up to the harness just beside the horn. You may have to pull the splash shield from inside the wheel well to get at it.

The passenger side should be in a similar location, perhaps hidden behind the washer fluid reservoir?

Note: This photo is from a Cold Air Intake installation, hence the aftermarket cone filter shown in the photo.

I spent most of the weekend looking for the pre-wired fog light plugs but had not much luck finding them. At one point I was so tempted to remove the whole front bumper. But anyway, after cooling down from the disappointment I started reading the service manual (Sec. PCS & PG) and opened up the IDPM E/R (relay box). Sure enough my Rogue (build date May 2009) was not prewired for fog lights. Connector E12 is where the Hi beam (pins 21 & 22), Low beam (pins 18 & 20), and Fog lights (pins 16 & 17) are connected, but in my case pins 16 and 17 were left open. They would have been the white and yellow wires according to the manual. If anyone has a chance, please verify that for me. I had also used a voltmeter to measure the voltage on each pin as I turned on the combination switch (w/ fog lights).

At this point, I can either take the rogue to the dealer to see what they can do about the fog lights or I can install the wires myself but then it might complicate the warranty coverage.

So, that’s my story. Not all Rogues are pre-wired for fog lights. Unless, I missed something. Oh well.

Same thing that happened to me. I was originally going to install the oem foglights but couldn't find the harness anywhere. I eventually gave up on it. But if there is a way to get the harness installed i might just do it.Did you find out a way to do it yourself or did u ask the dealership about it?

It's possible. Nissan does not document all the changes during production. There may be certain build dates, etc that do not have fog light wiring.

You could connect it to parallel with headlights or just connect it to the battery like an accessory and get the wire throw the firewall for switch inside. Shouldn't be too hard but fog lights will be independent if you connect with the battery.

You could buy the harness... problem is it there no such thing as a fog light harness. You have to buy the entire harness for the front half of the car which includes the fog lamp connectors! Cost is about $1000 USD and you would be looking at a few days to pull the old one and replace it.

If you want an OEM install, the best bet is to talk to your dealer. They have the connectors and pins needed to add the wiring to your harness. Unfortunately you cannot buy these yourself... they are repair parts only sold to dealers.

If you are willing to live without the OEM fog light switch, it's easy enough to wire the fog lights. You can purchase an entire kit with the relay, switch, fuse and wiring from many auto parts stores. Read my response in the post below:
