you'd be suprised!

I have both VDC and ABS, and thank god I do. One day, it was raining REALLY bad and I was doing 110mph and I took a VERY VERY SLIGHT curve. The back of the car just lost grip. INSTANTLY, the VDC with the help of the ABS started braking the rear wheels, left , right, left, right, and so on (the front wheels too). I regained control without spinning out.

from this day on, I never go more than 85mph.

Im dissapointed to hear this Mc...

110mph is fast enough to do on straight road in great conditions...

It was raining "really bad" and you took a curve (any kind) at 110mph?

Now you say you arent gonna go faster than 85, but you are still savin for the turbo?....

The only thing i was suprised about in your post was your lapse in judgement... you know better than this Mc...

hey, it was a brand new 3.5SE and you don't know how fast and smooth it goes up to 110mph, and that curve wasn't even a real curve...more like a.. slightly bended straight lol.

anyhow I learned my lesson about rain and OEM tires everyone has his FAIL moments

Hey you are 37... and with that comes life experience...

08Coupe.. ever go 110 in the rain on a "slight" curve? $1 says no... because theres just no sense in it...

Sometimes us "young bucks" dont have the insight and experience to know any better... like when you see someone posting about cutting springs....

THIS IS YOUR LIFE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE....

People post about buying guns to protect from home invasions... the odds you will expire in a car accident with these types of habits are 10,000 times more likley than a home invasion or even a pick pocket!

MC you know im not beating you up without reason, but for the un-initiated (like the 17 yr old who posted his eyelids) we need to set an example of what SAFE driving is... this isnt the first post about a totaled coupe... and it wont be the last... Im glad we havent lost a member on the road... lets keep it that way guys... KEEP IT CLEAN, KEEP IT CLASSY and KEEP IT SAFE! Thats all... Im done...

Yeah folks... be careful out there. On my way home today, I saw a totally trashed coupe on a flatbed. If the bumper would still have been on the car, it would have been on the firewall... Even with good road conditions, the stock tires are still pretty crappy; crappy enough to slip making a left turn across 3-lanes and a wide center median (as wide as another lane) at 30mph. Anyway, glad you are alright. Bet you won't do that again.

I agree its better to be safe, but 110mph is really not that fast..Its really depends on the road..Go to Germany and see how fast they drive in the rain...I wouldn't take the stock coupe tires over 85 in the rain! But in the real world things can get ugly quick over 100mph on some roads..

the roads on the autobahn are 2x as thick as ours... and they get repaired somewhat INSTANTLY... its not a valid comparison to driving here.. our roads arent made to handle that type of action, and are poorly maintained most of the time
