My vacuum source is the fpr line. i've got the wastegate, bov, gauge, and fpr on the same vacuum source. My plugs are gapped ast stock which i believe is .044 And i'm running stock autolite plugs. *cheap ones* I'll check over all my piping and retighten down all the clamps and everything.Florida240sx wrote:Where is your vacuum source? I use fpr line. T'd into it for bov wastegate and boost gauge then the other end is the fpr. Not a single problem. Sounds like you got a boost leak somewhere. Or could be the turbo, bov etc. Do a boost leak tester. What are your plugs gapped at? That is probably your rev limit.
Yeah i knwo what you mean actually to tell you the truth my friend had this same style bov on his eclipse and it boost leaked like crazy.... but he bought his used from some weirdo. this one is brand new but i am starting to think it could be part of the problem...240sxvaj wrote:Based on what i remembered, i didnt hook up my wastegate and still able to hear my bov. i have HKS bov and stock t-25, only have one wastegate nipple for vac and one nipple for bov. Honestly i heard bad things about knockoff bov, can give you boost leak.
yeah i know i just got anxious to see if it'd at least move under a load with the injectors rail and fpr, and emance tune.. I'm not running it again til i get everything else on it. What should i set the fuel pressure to?WDRacing wrote:Don't take this the wrong way...but you're fvcking this up.
Stop doing anything running this until it's ALL finished.
Get a downpipe.Install the O2.Get a fuel pressure gauge and set the fuel pressure.Change your oil because you've got fuel in it by now.Change your plugs, get one heat range colder.
You're almost there, I don't want to read about you breaking something.

so wd i got a few questions that i hope you'd be willing to answer then...what should i set my fuel pressure at?On my wastegate which vacuum nipple should i use the one on the back or the one on the top or both? And on my bov which should i use there are 2.Is it ok to have my wastegate, fpr, boost gauge, and bov all going to the same vacuum source? I read that the wastegate is better to get vacuum from the turbo itself? IS that true? What plugs do you recommend and what should i gap them at?Any specific fuel pressure gauge or would an ebay special work?WDRacing wrote:Don't take this the wrong way...but you're fvcking this up.

Never buy EBay special parts when it comes to fuel or spark control. You can get a decent affordable gauge from Summit Racing.zerepdivad wrote:

If you can answer those i'd really appreciate it. I've been working ont his car for about a year or so and have been collecting parts for it for almost 2 years now, and i really wanna have some fun with it this summer.
Yeah i got my fuel pressure gauge on order now! And i'm going to initially borrow my friends wideband and see where everythings at and then i'm going to buy my own. I've already got an safc i just haven't hooked it up just yet. I'm going to flush my oil as well and not drive it again until i get it back from exhaust and have the wideband, safc,o2, fuel pressure gauge etc hooked up.WDRacing wrote:

I use all kinds of plugs, Autolite, NGK's, Denso's...just get one heat range colder then stock and gap them to .038
I never use the turbo for ANY vacuum or boost reference. I have everything come from the manifold, in fact I had mine setup exactly like yours is.
The correct wastegate nipple is the one on the side.
Also, beg barrow or steal a wideband O2 meter. You really need to see what your AFR's are. If they are a tad rich you can reduce the fuel pressure a little until they are perfect. I personally always start off with 40psi of fuel.

ok cool i'll pick some of those up tomorrow hopefully autozones got em. Now i'm pretty much just waiting for my fuel pressure gauge and exhaust and all the other little things.thanks a lot to those who have replied. i appreciate it.Florida240sx wrote:Get ngk bkre6 should be 2.25 each depending on the place. gap to .036 -038
i somehow missed this.... yeah i've got about 19 on vacuum so i don't have any vacuum leaks at least.... got my fuel pressure gauge from summit on the way and i've got to wait til sometime at the end of this week to get my exhaust done and get o2 installed. I just wired up my safc does anyone have any idea what i should have my settings at for a setup like this once i get everything done?240sxvaj wrote:What is your boost gauge reading for vac and boost? It should have readings of 18-20 for vac while idle, if not then you have a vac leak.
