Black/Graphite/Premium/Auto/Sport......very excited .....some observations...
1) Although I previously took a quick test drive a while back, I just didnt realize how much improved the interior is from the G35 - the seats are supportive, yet comfortable, with great leather - I'm 6', 220 .....I tend to like to drive with my seat tilted back a bit a la "gangsta lean", so no issue with headroom as previously posted...however, I did find reaching below left side to adjust my seat a tight fit for my hand
2) side mirror adjustor has been moved to an easily accessible place vs the ridiculous place it used to be on the 35, hidden to the left of the steering column...great
3) Infiniti gives you a quick reference guide which is far less cumbersome than the full-on manual, which will probably remain in my trunk 90% of the time - features like the bluetooth directory from phone, Homelink, and the Ipod connectivity were a breeze to set up....the 7" monitor is great
4) Kept under 4000 RPMs per the 'break in' post....had the car up to 80 on I95....noticed the car is quieter with respect to road noise vs my previous 04 G...not sure if it was due to the famously noisy Yoko AVS ES 100s i had on the G35 or not....also, even with sport suspension, after traversing RR tracks, I felt the G37 to be much smoother than my previous G
5) exhaust note up to 4000 RPM nice, but I really wanted to hear that growl...I'll have to wait......
6) through some research here and on the Internet, I bought some Meguiars NXT Generation Tech liquid car wax....wonderful product.....did a quick coat on the new G.....glides on and off easy....no swirl, no dust....just a deep vivid shine....best wax I've ever used
7) Took car directly from dealer to have windows tinted at a local well respected chain - my advisor there told me that due to all the electronics in the vehicle, he said it was necessary to go with a "carbon" based (vs metallic) tint to avoid any 'electronic' interference that happens with the metallic tint....I dont know if this guy was playing me, since the carbon "ultimate" tint was, surprise(!), the most expensive....I paid, with tx $254.00....anybody here know about window tints?
To conclude, I agree with some of the reviewers that the G37 is a more refined, 'grown up' driving experience.....I havent felt that "post purchase cognitive dissonance" over not having waited and purchased the new 135, which was my original plan - this car, for the $, and the deal I got, is a world beater, unquestionably.....
