It's been a while since I have shown you guys what has happened.

I received the Hood Dampers from LBC from the first contest he held and installed those shortly after, my only qualm with them is that there is an increased gap between my hood and passenger fender now. I don't know if the strut is pushing up against the hood while it's closed or what but it's not that big of a deal. Also repainted some off my engine stuff, but plan to repaint a darker blue very soon.

I also bought RacingLines STB off of a fellow NICO member (michaelthepsycho) and installed that same day.Rims/Tires/Pro Kit should be coming in the next month so look forward to another update soon

I hate you and your damn Strut Tower Bar.

I wish I had gotten that deal.

And wow. That gap looks kinda big. Unless I just haven't realized how big it is normally.

No I'm pretty sure the driver side sits normally but the passenger side there is definitely a gap.

Ya that STB is

Try reversing the side the balljoint is on for the hookup...

Meaning, rather than have the ball pointing twd the outside of the car, switch the bracket and try it facing the inside...

I was thinking about that because there is a hardly noticeable fitment problem with ball joint. I'll try that out in a couple days. Thanks for the advice

I have the Stillen Dampers and i never had a problem with the gap until i had to have my fender repaired from my accident. now the fender is way off and thats the only thing the body shop says, its cause of the dampers.

They didnt even install it right cause they didnt cut a hole in the headlamp bracket like they should have.

That's weird. These aren't the Stillen dampers and there are some differences, I saw that the Stillen ones are mounted to the inside of the headlight bolt (closer to the engine bay) these sit right on top of that bolt.

I'll be messing around with it soon and try to figure out what is going on with it.Thanks again LBC I really appreciate it

It shouldn't be too hard if you take your time. I had about 1 hour to paint the thing and get it back on my car so it came out kind of cr@ppy but it just takes patience. I will also be hand painting the "NISSAN" on the engine cover

I actually recently installed the stillen dampers. The gap increased just enough for me to notice. Although in my case I believe the gap was caused by the upper brackets actually bending a little after a couple uses...

this is how I had to install mine . any other way and there was either a gap because of the actual dampers getting in the way or in rod up the dampers would open violently if you didn't hold it at the end.

I suggest using the redline tunning dampers http://www.redlinetuning.com/Q....html

they are the only one properly R&D and tested. the rest is all meh IMO

Yep - I remembered reading your posts awhile back about the violent opening and have them installed the mcheddadi way lol

here is a photo of one of the brackets - you can see its slightly bent towards the engine bay and i think its causing the slight gap increase for me

I think you have to turn your dampers upside down like this

I'll be messing around with the dampers this weekend.my only qualm with switching the bracket around facing the engine bay instead of the outside of the car is that the damper would be at an angle, I don't know if that will stress it out somehow...

We'll see what happens and I'll be sure to update on my findings

you might have missed it but I was one of the very first to get the dampers from stillen and there was a big debate about whether installing them rod up or rod down.

check here if you want to catch up:http://forums.altimas.org/zero...age=3

if you install it the way stillen tells, it's going to have too much force and momentum at the top and you'll have to hold it from banging at the top.

if you install it my way, it won't have gaps when you close the hood and it will open much more smoothly.

check this video I made when I got them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCGUEZJLbAc

Now if you want them to open like mine you gotta do it my way

Could you have switched the struts like driver to passenger and passenger to driver to have the Stillen logo face correctly or does it not work that way ???

Mine aren't Stillen and don't have a sticker I was just wondering ???
