RB25, stock log manifold. AEM EMS (map sensor), AEM uego, walbro 255, AEM FPR, still stock injectors...for now.

GT3071R internally gated, T3, .82 a/r.

only looking for low 400's at the wheels. its for real this time. ive been beating myself up over this for far too long. tomorrow is D-day. this will do what i want, correct? i still havnt ordered injectors though. i was origionally looking at the deatschwerks 740cc's. but i read something about them heating up and causing coil issues. so im hesitant to go with those. the reason for going so big, is incase i want to go with a bigger turbo someday. i will be putting new injectors on when the turbo goes on, so thats not an issue. thanks guys.

I'd say go with Denso's or something, but that's just my opinion. Other then that to the best of my knowledge you'll be all set. I'm secrectly happy to hear about someone else keeping the stock exhaust manifold, at least I wont be the only one. Oh just one more question, with the 25 why'd you choose the 3071, over say a 3076 or something a bit bigger? Just wondering, seems like the 400wheel would be easier to reach that way. Just my $.02.

I don't think you will have any trouble with the deatchwerks injectors. You may have heard ME talking about it.

Yes, you CAN have trouble. I am gonna call it unlikely though.

Plus, their customer service is awesome.

No idea on the turbo man, I just run a t3/t04e.

cool man. the price on the deatchwerks is definately a selling point.

the 3071R should be very streetable. i'd like to autocross it this summer. maybe get it on a real race track also. i initially wanted a 35R. but i could see myself spinning out alot on an autoX course. lol.

400 is overkill for an S chassis, imo. should be more than enough for the street/strip/track. ive been told the 3071R should get me to 400 pretty easily. going on the word of otheres. thats why this thread exists. lol.

I agree, I'm still shooting for that range though. Yeah I was just wondering what your plans were, should be a very fun autocross/street toy. Judging on the current state of the car I'm sure this next bit will come out top notch too.

3076 for me on the 20, pretty much exact same plans though, auto-x, on a bigish track though and street driving, goooood stuff.

the gt3076r is not an autox or small track turbo...really need some high speeds and big revs to make use of it.

Well if I do autocross this summer it's a good thing it's big track then. :D pretty much just for fun to work and back for me but yeah, I still want to get a smaller trim.

What about on a 25 though Carl, I was thinking it'd spool a little quicker, but maybe my guess is off though.

Anyhow sorry to clutter up your thread with my noobish turbo choosing stuff Dane.

I'm excited to see what the results are with this turbo.. I am sketchy about running the stock manifold, and also about running an internal gate. I'm glad someone's trying both, so I can stop wondering what's going to happen with boost control, and spool/peak power.

Good luck

I've been looking into the same thing. I looked at quite a few compressor maps, and the 3071 looks like it may be a little small for our motors. I was shooting for 400 at the wheels, and it was past the choke line. The 3076, tho, spools right up the good side of the surge line, cuts right through the high efficiency islands, and stops right around 65% efficiency revving to 7500, making about 450-470 HP, you figure in error, and driveline loss, puts you right around 400 at the wheels, at 18-19 psi. The guys on SAU are making full boost at 3800. Although, the 3071 should give some Awesome transient response. Correct me if I am off here...

Keep us posted on your decision, and how it turns out!!!

ive hit a slight snag. turns out the guy i was going to buy from, was part of some 'membership special pricing' website. the pricing he sent me, was with a $100 membership. ends up being about $1200. which is the same pricei was quoted from a local shop. he said the non-member pricing was $1359. lol. i told him to have a nice day.

so i didnt buy it yet.
