Greetings,

I just installed a 100,000 mile '03 VK45 into my '02 Q45. All the plugs on the harness appear to be plugged in right, except for a few.
  • O2 sensors before the cats, are not plugged in
  • O2 sensors after the cats, are not plugged in
  • The coolant temperature sensor in the back of the block, is not plugged in. Also, the '03's sensor is a different setup. The '02's harness seems short by about an inch. Maybe it should be rerouted?
I also took the fuel rail off my "02, as the '03 was laid out differently. The car wouldn't start, but it seemed to backfire once every three of four cycles... Any ideas on where to start searching for starting issues?

All the best,
~HollywoodJackson~

Maybe its the crank angle sensor? might be different flexplate from 02 to 03?

Not sure. The flexplate should be exactly alike. It's bent slightly, and as others have pointed out, it's probably why there's no fuel/spark/ignition.

I'm hoping. It should be delivered tomorrow, and I hope to have it installed by Wednesday evening.

All the best,

It was the ring gear that is a part of the flywheel. When I took the engine out, it got bent. When I swapped in a new one, the car fired up.
