What exactly did you do for wiring? When I swapped my 91 motor into my 90 i used the 91 harness with a couple of plugs spliced on from the 90 harness. That would get the car to start but nor exactly run right since i just kind of matched the colors that were the same and did nothing with the ones that didn't. Anyway I have a DE harness now that I will try to use tomorrow. Let me know some more specifics and I will try to help you out.

Matt

PS I am pretty damn drunk right now so I will look at this tomorrow when I am sober and try to help more.

Not a prob... your car is the red coupe with the foam spoiler right? Anyway I am also friends with Troy (tweaktac) and Ryan (sxse). They both have swapped 240s that I have helped with. We should have a local 240 get together sometime...

Matt

Edit: Sorry about the threadjack night... if you need anymore help getting your car running e-mail me at matt@xessiv. com and I will try to help when I am more sober.

Mattlord - Sounds good, and yeah that is my POS. I've met Ryan already and taken a ride in his car... and yeah I'd be down for a meet sometime. Email me at [email protected].

Threadjacking done now, sorry Night.

the only wires you should need to cut on a sohc to dohc swap are the ones on the ecu that go up into the dash. There are 8 or 9 that reconnect from the body harness to the dohc engine harness. If you cut anything else, then you have a problem. Also check all fuses.

hey nightwalker, this is the owner of the car that wont start that night is talking about. we built the motor from the ground up. we set the timing by the FSM. we'll take a closer look at it. maybe the computer wont read the compression? if its dead on timming we'll look into it. thanks.

Also, a mechanic friend of mine told me to stay on the starter and open the throttle. If the timming is right, going to try that.

Timing is extremely crucial on KAs and SRs as well. If you are off by a hair, the car will run like crap! Check for the distributor timing as. (the way you installed the distributor as well) There is only ONE right way to reinstall the distributor, I had mine off by one notch and the car would not fire up. You might as well check your chain while you're at it. Good luck.

you are not kidding. we fixed the timming and shes purring. sounds real mean! we are still trying to get just right. shes real particular about having it right. tried to drive it and she kinda dies. timing is a pain in the butt.
