So i have an 89 RPS13 with the ka24e motor. I want to swap but I need to know how to do it properly. Can some one give me a full rundown of what you need and how to do it?

During the swap I plan on putting some other aftermarket Items as well. Would a B&M short shifter for a ka24de or sr20 work on a transmission that was from a ka24e? and also would the transmission on the ka24e work on the ka24de motor? Please dont point me wrong so that I end up damaging anything.

Hey man, welcome.

As far as giving you information about what you need for your swap, well, that all depends on what swap you're planning to do. Here's some good general advice, though...

1. Always buy from a trusted source. Get a warranty on the parts if you can. It's not always an option, and sometimes you'll have to pay extra for it, but if you can make it happen, you'll be glad you did.

2. Search, search and research. Be it a KA24DE swap, a KAT build, an SR, CA, or RB swap, someone else has done it and they know EXACTLY what it will entail.

3. Plan on spending more than the cost of the parts. Getting them to work right will probably not happen the first time, unless you have a pro shop do the swap for you.

Other than that, the hardest part for now will be deciding on what engine you want to go with! So, good luck, and post up!

Oh, a quick note... the RPS13 was, is and always will be a 180sx with the SR motor (and/or CA, I better double check that! LOL) Your car, equipped with the KA24E, is the RHS13, unless it isn't a fastback, in which case, it's just a HS13. The R stands for the fastback chassis.

Ok, haha. thanks. well I'm planning for the ka24de just because it has moe part options than the ka24e. You can see the pic of my car on my avatar. It looks nice but im planning to gut it and do all the stuff with it that'll make it handle good. I'm planning on seam welding it, TEIN Flex suspension, nismo power brace, tension rods, u kno, the works. I also want to keep the motor in an N/A state. I'm wondering if there are parts available for exactly that. Anyways, about that ka24de swap, do u have like, a full layout of how to do it? If so please make it as detailed and specific as possible. Thank You!

If you're going with the KA24DE, you'll have a RMS13... good choice though! All I can say about the swap is search, search and search. There's way more information on these boards than I could give you in a single post.

zerosearch

Search for "KA24DE Swap" and you'll see what I mean.

If you are going to keep it N/A although turbo would be better well then rebuild the engine with high comp pistons and go from there.Don't we got a couple with close to 220rwhp with N/A but built engines?
