Can anyone help confirm that my '08 Rogue is an S AWD? The dealership said it is and I think so but are there any tell tale signs as to if it is?

I am thinking that the person who bought the rogue just simply bought the S model and got it fully loaded because it has a moon roof, trailer hitch, tinted back windows, leather interior, heated front seats, it has cables for an XM radio setup coming out the left front of the dashboard. It also has a center ring above the stereo where it looks like the Garmin Nuvi GPS located. I now place my TomTom One on this spot.

It was debadged of the S or SL that was on the car.

The things that make me believe it is an S model is the sole fact that it does not have roof rails and the fog lights were definitely done after market. They are actually wired into the headlight harness so when i turn the headlights on the fog lights come on. I only figured this out because I noticed the car had fog lights but I couldn't find the switch to turn them on, so I proceeded to open up the hood and saw the wiring. I had to replace the relay because somehow it has blown; now they work just fine. Eventually down the road I am going to rewire it and actually buy the correct handle for the fog lights; unless someone knows if its not necessary.

Now onto some other questions - I am looking at putting 18" or 19" rims on the car. I have read - Ed's 19"zerothread/301335 - Native 18"zer...-snow - Ed's Tire and Wheel Charthttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/293478

Now I am just curious as to if any of these rims are going to rub in the wheel well while turning or if all of the sizes posted in the chart are safe to assume that I should not run into any issues. I have never bought a pair of wheels and tires for a car so I just want to make sure I do this right the first time since I will be spending a fair amount of cash on this. When i read the thread on Ed's Chart when it says Speed Error - %0.128 does that mean the is going "faster" or "slower" then what is on the speedometer.

Also the passenger seat for some reason only heats up the back and not the butt area. I read somewhere about something with them not installing heated seats on the passenger side because it affect air bags? I am not sure if this only applies to after market heated seats. It also lead me to believe that it does not heat because someone had mentioned that the passenger air bag sensor is in the bottom of the seat. I am worried that if it is broken how would I go about fixing it.

The final question!!The trailer hitch on my car is a 1" 3/4" receiver and I bought a Thule Expressway I think it is; which is also 1" 3/4". There was a ton of rust and s*** all in the hitch so I cleaned it out with a wire brush on the end of a drill and a power washer. I measured the stem of the rack and the depth of the hitch and they are the appropriate length to fit, actually the stem of the rack is shorter then the depth of the receiver so the holes should line up. However when I attempt to insert the bike rack the holes do not line up. What does it sound like it could be? Think possibly the hitch still has some rust just hanging out somewhere inside and I am blind? Or is it possible that something is just not adding up?

Okay well if you have any input pertaining to anything I said it is all appreciated. No matter if you think it won't be I am sure I will utilize it.

Long post now over!!!

I would think that the Nissan NA web site, if given the VIN, could tell you immediately if it's the S or SL.

The VIN number only tells you the model, year, FWD or AWD, mfg. plant, and serial number. The dealer however may be able to look up the VIN number (and most importantly, the serial number portion) on their system and tell you exactly the trim and options on the vehicle.

You can find also links to the spec sheets listed in the Official Rogue FAQ sticky at the top of this forum. This will give you more clues.

But as always, make sure you test fit any wheels before buying, or at least have the option to return them if they do not fit. Any reputable tire shop should be able to do this.

[/quote]Aftermarket heated seats typically do not have a heating pad for the passenger side seat cushion due to the OCS sensor for the airbags. Most shops will not take on the liability so they will just install one on the backrest only. The only way you can get the heated seat cushion is to have heated seats from the factory, period. There is no simple or cheap way to add them after the fact.

Good luck with your new Rogue!
