I think this is my first big mod to my car. changing the exhaust, my old one is just piece of junk ever since i got this car. 95 s14. it had a crack on the rear pipe when i got it over a year ago. it keeps making buzz noise when i am going constant rpm at low gears.

I havent done any performace upgrade to my car. so the exhaust is my first one.I've been doing alot of research. I decided to buy this hks hipower because the deal i couldn't say no to.

it was 350 shipped, 3" piping. it is used, selled claimed that only used for 2 months. well, i opened the box this afternoon. the condition of the exhaust is just near perfect. i know, 3" is over kill for NA many of you would say. but my long run goal is turbo. i guess i could stand it for now.

if it wasn't the deal, I am totally on BRM.

advise on installing it? thanks

just a little thing to share with all of the 240sx lovers.

good purchase dude, your gas milage would suffer a bit, also get a good air intake, it would help alot. i used to run the same set up, with my s14 NA and it run fine.

They HKS Hi power was my original choice until i learned about BRM. If I ever get rid of the BRM, Hi-power would be my next install.

As a matter of pact, when I purchase the EVO, Hi-power will be the first mod done to it.

I am very pissed.this afternoon. me and my friend were planning to put the exhaust on my car. I go under the car. tried to unbolt the piping from the cat.

guess what i found out. the cat is welded to the exhaust pipe. I have no idea why the hell the pre owner done this . so i cant get it installed today

I have to purchase a new cat. maybe high flow one. any recommandations please?

Srry to thread hijack but the wife and I have decided that the next car I buy will be an EVo. Reason is that the Skylines are just too expensive and the EVO ahs 4 doors. Seriously. No kidding. The purchase is planned for 1 - 2 years from now. No rush. just enough time for me to complete work on the 14.

As for hi-flow cats, I would contact greg (Azhitman) and see what he can do for you. If he can't help, he'll surely send you to someone who can.

sXi why not just get a cat delete pipe? I run one w/ my Hi Power and sound is still mellow on my CA.

BRM sells Magnaflow cats. Call/email Greg. He got me a good deal when I replaced the cat on my Escort.

Another brand is Catco. But they seem a little cheaper than RT or Magnaflow. I think cats from any of those companies will bolt right on.

if ur s14 is anything like mine, it wont matter what u put in place of your stock cat. that one on my car is a dummie cat. the real catalitic converter is in the downpipe. Its that bulge u see on your header in the engine compartment.

Congrats...you just earned my respect. Seriously. That is super cool man! If I lived in a smog area, I would for sure run one. But since Johnny Law can't make me run one yet (or rather, does not check for it) I still rape Momma Nature every time I run my car.

I dunno about you, but I gained gas milage with my Apexi N1 on the NA engine.

Well, I have a CA (which runs stupid rich maps from the factory...damn 80s ECCS...) and 3" off to my HiPower. It REEKS of gas.

Not as bad as my equally exhausted N/A RX-7. Damn thing would make my eyes water at a stop light!
