Hello Everyone, I've been a Pathfinder owner for awhile now. But never did much internet talk about it because it has been trouble free for 7 or 8 years. I have this 2008 Pathfinder V8. Bought it new. No complaints except that I wasn't completely happy with its towing stability. More about that later. Right now I'm starting to get some gremlins. My gas gauge has acted up a couple of times this year. And it set a code. Had a fellow read the code and he said it had something to do with the sending unit or the gauge, but most likely the sending unit. I wish I had the ability to read the codes myself. I can turn a wrench pretty well. I have a few collector cars myself and have done restorations of a '65 GTO, 56 Ford, 63 Austin Healey, and some others. But I have limited experience with computer and modern injected cars. So I want to fix this gas gauge issue and then there is another issue on the horizon and that is the radiator. I'm told that it may start to leak to the trans cooler. I want to nip that in the bud before it happens. Anyway I have read some of the post on this site and it looks like one that I will appreciate and enjoy and will keep in my favorites box. Thanks in advance if we get talking later. Dave.

Welcome to the forum Dave. There was a recall for the fuel gauge issue, here's some info on it. http://repairpal.com/nissan-xterra-recall-10v075000

Thanks WD. I saw that notice. I went down to the Nissan Dealership and didn't have the notice with me and they told me that there was no recall on my Pathfinder. I later talked to a mechanic and he said it may not have applied to my vehicle because it only included certain VIN numbers. ????? Dave.

It's possible that your model wasn't affected by that particular recall. You can enter your VIN in the link below and pull up a list of all applicable recalls.

Hopefully you find something that covers the issue.

Welcome to NICO! I'd check your grounds and make sure everything is connected properly. I'd also recommend and O2 sensor. They are usually bad at this age and seldom throw a code. A code is only generated by the computer when a sensor reports and out of spec reading. The O2 sensors tend to send a signal that is within range when they die, and the computer doesn't notice it never moves.
