Just rewired faulty trailer wiring (R50), still no dice!

I discovered my trailer wiring harness ('00 Pathfinder) was faulty tonight, so I bought a new harness and installed it. And it still doesn't work. I got the converter designed for vehicles with independent turn signals, and wired it exactly how the directions describe.

All my lights work, but nothing on the trailer. I have it grounded on a taillight mounting bolt which screws directly into the unibody; this is the same ground previously used.

What gives?

The LED indicators show that the circuit is powered, so it must be a good ground...

Try making it a better ground by taking some sandpaper to the mounting hole and make sure it's a good clean ground. There could be paint or crud preventing a good ground there.

Did you measure the voltage coming out the light sockets on the trailer? Do that and trace it back to the input to make sure the wires are even live. It could be an issue withe the trailer lights, not the connection from the truck.

I'll double check the ground. The LED indicators say it's live, but it only takes 0.5V to light up a small LED.

The trailer lights definitely work though. I hooked it up to my truck and they worked perfectly.

OK, so I checked voltages and at the truck connector, everything is working great. I have a good ground and a solid 12v+ at each terminal when that circuit is completed.

But how does the trailer differentiate between park lamp and brake lamp? Both my readings at the connector were 13.x volts when the park lamps were on, and when the brake lamps were on. I noticed that the trailer connector has 5 wires (but going into a standard 4-way flat harness).

For the life of me, I can't figure out why this particular trailer is not cooperating with this Pathfinder!
