Hows it going everyone? I just recently started working on a 1990 Hardbody with a single cam ka and I have a few questions. Since my engine is the same one found in the 240, would I be able to buy 240 performance parts and be able to use them (i.e. cams, headers etc.)? Or do I need to buy Hardbody specific parts? If I can use parts "made for" the 240, what would you guys recommend? I'm looking to build a track truck, but I also want it to be reliable since its my daily driver. Sorry to sound like such a noob, but I'm new to this and I want to make sure I have all my facts straight before I start screwing around under the hood. Thanx in advance for any replies.

they're not exactly the same engine. The KA24E in the HB is a single cam, while the 240s have the KA24DE twin cam engine.

The 89 and 90 240sx used the single cam version. I would think most modifiications for this version may work, but mods for the even the SOHC version are pretty limited as well. At leas from typical channels. There are plenty of race parts available for the SOHC motor as they were used in many GT3 race cars, but these motors were not streetable by any means. I know there were some cams available at some point in time, but I can't recall who made them or if they are still available on the market.

You might try asking around on the KA24 forums:

Nissan motorsports has some cool stuff for KA24E engines. Some mild and some hot.If running GT3 parts you must contact Rubello racing for cylinder head mods.
