This almost brought tears to my eyes. We were returning from a schoo event today, and as we pulled my Q was sitting off in its corner. It looked at it, and the stance of this car is very low and wide, even when its stock.. At first glance all I could see were the chrome piepans shining in the sunlight, the chrome grille, and the sky's refection in the deep crimson paint......

The day before I drove my parents GTP, because my dad drove it to get hte oil changed (did it wihle he was at work).

WHen I got back into my Q, I didnt realize how much I missed it. I hadnt driven anything else but the Q for well over a month, and only ridden in a handful of cars in that time.

This car is really the apitamy of everything. I was talking with Jesda, and NO OTHER CAR has an interior that feels this expensive. The dash PANELS are leather (no other car that I konw of is like this), and the plastic doesnt feel plasticy. Every little piece feels like it has the engineering that an entire GM car would have.!!!!

Im sorry to say, but the styling of the Q has taken me a year to really grow on me. At first, its OK, not love/hate. Then it grows on you, and its all over then.

I could safely say that my car had more engieering into it than the 5 closest cars to me.

So in summary, I can say that I drive the greatest car on earth. I was watching some old Q45 ads, and car and driver named "the Q45 as one of the top 10 greatest cars in the world". I believe the G50 supercedes 90% of NEW cars on the market today.

Be happy you own a G50. I can tell you that i am ALWAYS going to ahve one, NEVER will you NOT see Wes without a G50!!!!!!!

The first gen G50 90-93, were one of the very very few sedans, that put the drive first.

Everything was geared toward the drive. The way the cabin wrapped around you, the way the car felt.. the suspension everything. That's why I liked it.. the seats were firm.. everything about it..

It's very hard to find cars like that any more.. Most of the big luxurious powerfull cars put luxury first.. They may have big engines and competent suspensions, but they don't feel as good to drive as a Q..

Just look at the suspension design

Front & rear multi link..

The M45 only uses rear multi links.. Not that I know this is something that may be better not to use front/rear multi link, but it seems that way.

Why didn't I mention the 2nd gen? Well It's still an awesome car, I'm not hating at all. I drive one right now.. but it was a compromise between luxury/performance.. While the first gen was not.

You would think that as a business major, I'd find more creative ways to raise money.... NOPE! :D

The textbooks never mention panhandling! If this works (and it wont) I'd love to write about it.

Every day I see cars go by, or browse around at dealerships, I'm constantly reassured that I have the best of the best. There's other cars that can do certain things better or go a little faster, but few bring it all together in one package so well.

You can get a supercharger RIGHT NOW for the q45.

Don't let the haters sway you

It isnt an eaton m90 either..

Thomas Knight will now use an Eaton 112 from the lightning (more downlow torque) and can also use the lighton intercooler setup if you desire. Or he can cool it by using the wiper fluid..

Bottom line, if you want a supercharger, you can get one

Thomas Knight makes the full Kit

JWT provides the ECU

you are reponsible for the rest.

I too would like to hot rod a Q. There are plenty very nice Qs with bad motors but everything else nice. My tape measure says a Ford 460 will fit. Use a TCI adapter plate and bolt in a GM 4L60 overdrive trans and you'd have a nice 550-600hp stomper easy. Only hard part is integrating the A/C and power steering. I would bet that a Ford PS pump would work just fine. As for A/C, you could probably make a bracket to bolt the Q45 compressor to the 460 and you'd just need to have custom lines made for high and low side. The Q radiator should be fine. For alternator I'd use a one wire GM. The 460 is front sump just like the VH45. It is heavier so custom front springs would be needed. There's almost no limit to what can be done with a 460. You want a 9+ liter motor? No prob, take a production block and put in a 4.5" stroker kit. You want more than 1000 streetable HP? Add a couple turbos or similar. Personally, I wouldn't go over 600hp with stock Q45 rear end and body. Oh darn, I just realized that a lot of folks have smog testing/inspection. Here in Iowa we have none. Not even a visual checkup.

No point in dropping in a new engine, when a supercharger is READILY Available

Eaton 112 is easily a 400 hp setup, 500 being obtainable if you want to go with an aftermarket headgasket and bigger injectors.

I would do turbo(s) before doing an eaton blower. Not that I have anything against the eaton but I like turbos better, also cheaper. I'm going to pull the motor from my 91 Q pretty soon as the chain guide problem has happened but it idles smooth so I think I lucked out with it. I'd be doing a basic rebuild on that motor with new valve springs and guides and whilst doing so I could install the thicker head gaskets. What is required to go to the 500hp forced induction level? Can I just add larger injectors and have it all peachy? Would I not also need a MAF calibrated to the injectors? Would I not need a higher volume fuel pump with rising rate fuel pressure regulator? Are any computer mods required? If I can just slap in bigger lb/hr injectors and thicker head gaskets, I'd find a way to route the exhaust and put in a Ford Powerstroke Diesel turbo which maxes out at 570 flywheel hp. With its .84A/R turbine I would think that boost would come on around 3000rpm or slightly lower and be strong all the way to 7000. I could move the battery to the trunk to make room. Or go on driver side and take out the air box which will be needed anyway. As far as exhaust routing, if the headers can be flipped around to point forward I don't think it'll be too tough.

Turbos are a pipe dream for the Q, period..

Supercharging has been developed, and is essentially bolt on level.

Everyone talks about turbos...

No one has done anything

There has been supercharged Qs on the road..

Everyone hates on the blower, which is fine.. Go drive an XJR, I doubt you would hate on them..

Have fun custom designing everything required for a turbo.. Have fun with all the plumbing, and all the custom ecu work required..

Have fun spending at least 3 times the cost of a supercharger, the same power..

No one is turboing a Q here..
