just purchased a 2001 i30t, am i missing something here ?

HI, just purchased a 2001 i30t, looking at the engine bay i noticed the following and hopefully you can see better from the pictures.

(1) there is a hole (perfect shape ) in the air intake tube just before mass air flow sensor, is there something missing ?

(2) to the left of the transmission dip stick there is a tube that come up from under neath and just end , goes to nothing. it has a 90 degree turn down on the end, is this ok ?

That tube is ventilation for the transmission. Could you take a pic of the first thing you're asking about?
