I am very happy to inform all of you I just purchased a 04 coupe with oly 35K. I love this car!!!! I know I might break my back due to 7 month old baby but I guess that is the price I must pay for this great car!!!! I just bough new tires BFGoodrich G-Force T/A. I wanted to know if I should look for 19" wheels or should I just stay with 18"? I love the look of the 19" but since tires are only 3 weeks old I guess I should look but purchase if a good deal comes out.. Please advice..

First... welcome to NICO!!Second, Go here and post them up! zerothread/39215

Third, not to judge, but you just mentioned the stress on your back with a 7 month old, and you just bought new tires, AND you're looking to replace your wheels and tires already??

Ok, 'nuff of that. I have 19's, and I am very happy. Another guy on the forum has 20's of the same style as mine, and I actually like the look of his better. There's lots of discussion about wheel size if you search.

Good to have you here!

Thanks for your help on this. 1st. Thank you for answering my post so fast and thank you for welcomming me to this great site!2nd. Yes, we do have a 7 month old baby but I hardly ever drive him only when needed. We have a small SUV (Discovery II), since I just got my car I have been driving the whole family around town and of course, I must taking him out of back seat. 3rd. I will not purchase rims soon but would like info on original 19" or if 20" (it is never too early to start researching).4th. I used to have a 1990 Nissan 300zx which my wife recommended for me to sell. Now, after over 6 years I was able to buy another car that I just love as much as my old Z. 5th. Here are a few pictures of my car without original wing which is already installed I just have not take pictures.

You are very welcome.

Really nice car, and already got your tint too! I just haven't been able to make the decision to get up off of the $250 yet. Good for you that you were able to get the wifey to ok the G after just getting out of a Z.

Looks like you have the Diamond Graphite. I was never a big fan of Silver cars, till I found that color on my own '04. Now I love it! The color is so easy to keep clean.

By the way... when you do get serious about new wheels, don't forget to keep your eyes peeled on the classified section here. That's where I picked up mine, for a fraction of their original cost, in prime condition.

I live in Brownsville, TX. and we usually have over 100F temperatures. Adding tint to the car is a must here if not I would suffer every day and the leather would too. I am very interested in visiting the for sale forum but not sure where it is. I have a great wife who realized having so many issues with my previous car not only was uncomfortable but unsafe for the whole family. All she wanted me to make sure was that my new car had enough space to fit our baby and that it was considered a good vehicle. Thankfully, I was able to find enough info. online that answered both of her requests. Thank you once again for your great comments. I actually love silver vehicles, my two previous cars were silver. My wife was the one that recommended this color because she felt I should change it a bit (once again smart wife). I believe silver is a color that disguises dirt quite a bit and that is the main reason why I like that color so much. Since I added the extended warranty 60K, can I do a few mods to this vehicle? I am not the type that changes motors or anything like that, but wanted to know if I would be able to add a new exhaust or may be a cold air system. I just don't want to void any of the warranty.

Car looks great, and low miles. It looks like the same color (or close) to my 06. I have the 19s and am not looking forward to replacing them. Hopefully they will last 20k but at 10k they are getting noisy. One good thing about the 18s is the tires will be cheaper and they still look pretty good.

Welcome aboard and congrats on the purchase!! Please post those pics in the Members Rides thread when you can!

For modding info. go here

zerothread/207927

Mods will not void your warranty unless they can prove that the mod is actually the cause of a problem. EG - you have an intake and your power seat doesn't work - they can't blame your intake for that... know what I mean?

I went (as most others here) with a JWT popcharger/Ztube combo and a Stillen exhaust. LOVE EM!!

I don't know if it's your camera or what, but your car looks unfathomably fresh... its amazingly clean... I like it a lot, it kinda makes me want a gray G instead of the black...

Props...

Welcome to NICO

If the $$$$ for tires and mods are burning a hole in your pocket, do the baby a favor and put that money in an agressive stock mutual fund in the baby's name. Whether it ends up going for college tuition, a wedding or the purchase of a new home, you'll thank me in 25 years. Just my $.02

I concure with the others^^ your car does match perfectly with your house! I have the same grafite gray color as you and the scary thing is, I've actually been thinking of repainting my house to nearly that exact color scheme as yours. Great minds think alike I suppose...or I guess we both just like the same colors in the color spectrum......Anyways....Nice ride!!! And Welcome to NICO!!! Good luck with your future mod decisions! And Enjoy the ride!

Once again thank you all for answering so fast and thank you for your great comments. 1. (Baby & G) Being a new parents calls for driving baby on best vehicle one can afford (the last thing I want my baby to say when he grows up is "Daddy never took care of me" ). 2. (House answer) My house is only 3 years old and came with a low tint. 3. (Car/Shine) I feel the car has a high shine due to a wax I had just given to it but also do believe my old Sony camera F717 takes very good pictures so it might be the convination of both. 4. (Color) I do love this color but feel that dirt is noticeable unlike silver. I had a black Gran Am GT, that car has been the hardest for me to keep clean. I did not mind buying another black car that is why we flew to Dallas to purchase a black G35 that I just loved. The guy from the dealership tried to tricked me into buying another car with the excuse of car just being sold a few minutes before we had arrived. I knew that could not be so since the dealership had just opened; another way I had made sure the car was available was by calling very late the day before and again they had informed me car had not sold. We left the place and drove to other dealerships, I am very happy we did since we found this beautiful car about $4,000 cheaper than the car they wanted to sell us.

Good for you for walking away from the first dealership. Some salespeople feel like they have to lie to get you there. I would go back there with your new ride and complain politely to his/her boss. Most infiniti dealerships don't pull those kind of tricks and frown on those who do so.

nope, but my GF wishes I was! Sadly I've got a little over 4 months until I go back home for a short break of a month or so....then back to the desert I go for another 6 months. I gotta stay out of the US for 330+ days to keep my tax free status. Well, up to "X" dollar amount anyways...then above that I'll still get hit with taxes. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, you've always seemed to be pretty well informed on most things of that nature. I know 2milehigh knows what I'm talkin about.

Anyways.....again...nice car! And +1 on color choice But truthfully, I haven't had too much problems with it showing dirt, although I know what you mean about silver....it's the ultimate dirt camo car!

Just think of the contractors working along side you...they make 150-200k with the first 80k tax free...

I did 8 years in the AF, with 5 trips to the sandbox...the last 2 were Iraq (which sucked). Let me tell you that getting out was the best thing I ever did! Just if you do, line up a job before-hand.

Whats your afsc?

Welcome to Nicoclub!

Congratulations on the new baby (human) and baby (G)! As you've already seen, this is the best group of enthusiasts on the web... we welcome you graciously and hope you enjoy your time here half as much as we do. I think the car looks great so I wouldn't throw any money into it just yet... get to know the car first, then think about mods you may want to do for tires/rims etc... I agree with telcoman that you should dump that extra cash into a 529 account for the future collegiate and watch it grow!

I vote that this should be Telcoman's new avatar:

I'm in the USAF Air National Guard, been in 10 years now. I'm actually over here as a contractor. The first 85k is tax free now...it's gone up the past couple of years. I won't tell ya what I make, but it's in window you mentioned. I'm actually on my 2nd AFSC. First 8 years was 2E672 (E&I) Telecomm guy if you're not familiar. And second is 3E951 (DP,NBC,CBRNE,EM) Whichever you may be familiar with. This is my 6th time over here in this general area, but 2nd time to IRAQ. This will be my last time ever in IRAQ though, if I do anymore overseas work it'll be in Germany or some place very pleasant! What was your AFSC Joe?

I must say I am very impressed on the number of repplies, for that I thank you! When I had my Z, I felt that community was very kind and very willing to help/chat with each other. I am starting to feel just as comfortable here. Thank you once again and continue to post, you never know may be I can help one of you if you ever come by the Valley (Rio Grande Valley). I only live about 30 minutes away from SPI (South Padre Island). Also if you guys/ladies need any (legal) items from Mexico, I live about 15 minutes from the bridge. P.S.Sorry for not answering this before: (House Comments) Thank you once again for the great comments on my house/colors! Believe me, it was hard making the decision since my house is the only gray brick home on my block. I must say, it is very easy when giving directions!

I was a 3C2, Tech Controller. I've thought about doing the contract thing...but the money just isn't worth dying for. Plus, I love my current job!
