Yea we went to the ring last year in her. I wanna go back before I leave. It was so unbelievably fun. They are real camera nazi's there, pun intended. Needless to say as soon as we got thew the start line I popped my GoPro up. I had video but F'd up my hard drive all i have now are picture :(.

Stayed at some friends house that lived like 20 mins from the track. Talk about a good location.

Gettin some gas right before we hit the ring.

It can be beautiful here sometimes. In between the rain and snow.

This is the office that you buy your "ring card" at. You pay per lap( 27 euro), and scan your card to left the gate to get onto the track.

The rest of these speak for themselves.

Even the wife approved.

Yea i found loop holes if you will to bring her home. Like changing all glass, mirrors, and bumpers. But its going to cost to much and I don't wanna worry about it ever being taken away when i get back. So i'm just going to get the military to ship all the part home in house whole goods. They don't care as long as its free of all fluids and clean.

.....and this mentality is responsible for the (irresponsible) deaths of many beautiful cars.

So if you changed all the glass and whatnot, they wouldn't give you any sort of official "don't seize this car" approval?

...You could have someone hang onto it a few years until it's 25 years old, if they let you use your car import after you've imported yourself, so to speak.

At first I was too. My plan was to take it real slow, just enough to say i did it. After the first turn i said screw that and the rest of the way the tires were screaming. So much fun.

I'm not 100% on what all they give me, but i know there is a lot of time where the car is out of my hand and sight. I know there are ways around everything, and believe me i sure hate to kill her. But she will live again! If it was like a 90' Id just wait, but being a 98' and how people come and go here it'd be really hard.

Couldn't agree more. I will be going back as soon as it gets warm. Last time i was there the track was closed half the time due to people crashing and stuff. They make the announcements in German, it's all the sighs that let you know the track is down.

That's a 98? Am I missing something huge about when what chassis was manufactured for what market? Did we just get s14's for NHTSA stuff or something?

Awesome pictures, must be great. And neat to be driving cars around on a track that was probably used in the proving of each model repersented.

I have to admit I didn't find Germany to be a particularly exciting place to live (I was in the British Army at the time) but have to say the nightlife was excellent.

Shopping was pretty tedious at the weekends because pretty much everything was closed.

But going out at midnight and drinking and chatting up women till 8am made up for it! :dblthumb:

I'm surprised you didn't look at sourcing a Jap import over in the UK - cars are pretty cheap there in general and you get loads of tasty stuff for a fraction of the mainland EU or US prices generally speaking.

Probably only cost you around $50 on Ryanair to get there as well ;)
