Just picked up my 2nd SR20DET s13 for $1100 **Pics 56K USERS BEWARE**

I've been lurking the forums, doing crap on my own since I purchased my first s13 back in 2004. But I never knew how much I really loved them until I came across this buy.

So I just picked up my second S13 this time it already has a sr20det poorly installed and it didn't even rune. 181,000 miles on the body (No rust). The guy wanted $2000 for it and eventually I talked him down to $1000 cash and a laptop that retails for over $2000 (IBM lenovo tablet x61) but I only paid $100 for it. So for $1100 would you have bought it?.

It's has some extra after market parts, nothing major. It has a XS Power FMIC, Turbo XS RFL-BOV, Apexi turbo back exhaust system, ACT stage 2 clutch, Koyo radiator, FAL fans, Momo steering wheel and coil overs on the front. A/f Gauge, Boost Gauge, and Volt Gauge. Tomorrow I'm pulling a Rear differential from 96 J30.

I finally got her to start and run it turned out to be the adjustable fuel pressure regulator was open ATW not putting any pressure on the line. Maybe the previous owner did this to hide the problems with it??

Now I see she's leaking oil from the oil feed on the turbo from what looks like a missing copper washer. I'm going to be replacing that very soon.

Anyways she has some problems. The previous owner must of beat her to hell.

1. Transmission grinds third gear every time 2. Front bumper doesn't fit it needs replacing. 3. She has a rough idle 4. It's leaking oil from turbo feed going into the turbo (more specifically the crushed copper gasket) 5. Need's new brakes 6. E-brake doesn't work well 7. Needs new paint, interior carpet, and the seats are stained and torn 8. needs a new hood. 9. engine temp gauge doesn't work 10. check engine light doesn't work 11. speedo goes a little bonkers after giving it 3/4 throttle

It was a guy on craigslist. He said he needed the money for a new car that worked. eh whatever. The wheels I don't think I'm going to sell just yet. I need them until I convert the brakes to 5 lugs.

I think I'm going to replace the turbo and the oil and coolant lines with steel braided one I will order them tomorrow. Along with a thermostat and water pump. The owner said he remembers it would get hot. Whatever that means

With some semi decent wire routing and mounting the fpr better that thing will be clean and a great platform! Great find for sure!

thats a great deal you got on that car. Most of the problems are minor. atleast the body is in great shape & it has that sexy motor. your lucky as hell, i had to spend like three times that for my swap. now it remove that wood and relocate the battery more to the side. let me know if you want me to clean the wiring up for you.

Thanks man. I'm going to order a replacement turbo and steel lines tomorrow. I'm gonna start prepping it for paint in the next couple weeks.

The wiring I think needs to be cleaned up. I'm thinking that's why the temp sensor isn't working and the ecu is throwing code 12 and 13.

The bumper just needs the fender extensions as the car was probably a pig nose then swapped to chuki.
