Picked up a nice '93 hatch the other day. I've had a kouki, two coupes, and now a hatch. All I need now to complete the colection is a zenki... and an s15

Pics first

Photoshop

First thing I'm trying to do is get a new hatch. Do I have to get one with a wiper? It has a wiper now so can I just throw a wiperless hatch on there without any problems? I'd rather not have one.

Also, can someone tell me from looking at the engine bay if I have ABS/Hicas, or tell me how I can check?

Last question. For some reason the engine feels slugish to me. It feels like it's struggling in first and second and then 3rd up it feels a little better but still feels like its straining. The power delivery also feels pretty "jumpy" at WOT when I start getting in 3k+ RPM's. Has 160k on the clock and the engine seems healthy. Idles fine, hasn't made any wierd noises ... yet. Just feels like it's not making as much power as it should. Maybe it's just because I'm used to a gutted basemodel coupe and this has power windows&roof, but I doubt it.

Clean car, and no abs....You would have a metal cube with a bunch of hardlines coming out, on the left side of the engine. BTW I have a rust free hatch, with no wiper. If you wanna drive an hour, im in PA. [email protected]

Well that's good news. I didn't really want to go through figuring out how to delete HICAS.

Have you guys ever seen these wheels on an s13? They look decent. http://www.rbwheels.com/index....6541c

Yeah that's what is means.

Another question... how do you guys protect from rust? Do I just clean/sand down the frame rails a little and then spray them with truck bedliner? Or do I spray all underneath the car? what about the inner fenders and the strut towers? Should I protect them from the inside by spraying bedliner? Is bedliner good or should I use something else? POR15? This baby is 100% rust free minus the hatch and I'm planning on keeping it that way foreverrrrrr!

I had frame rail rust on the rail right under the firewall on both sides. You know where it bends upwards. Anyway, me and my man Carl cut out the rusted metal and he welded in a new piece and brazed it, then sanded it down. Primed it and then used under coat, it looks as if it never happened. whitecomet used this truck bedliner stuff that comes in a jug, its very nice looking and I have worked with it a little. amazing stuff hands down, I'll check his build thread for the pic of the stuff.

Basically, a HICAS car has a different pump and reservoir to power the four wheel steering setup. In the engine bay pic, the reservoir is that of a non HICAS car.

plus you'd have the lil hicas light to the right of ur steering wheel where the change thing is in the base models.

and you'd have a vlsd

Awesome, very clean S13, low mileage too. Great interior... I don't think any S13 came stock like that but it's a nice job. A bit worn but not bad.

Anyone have any suggestions for this? I'm trying to search for the answer but am not really finding much.

Should I run a compression test?

I had Stance gr's on my coupe. I'm thinking about getting megans this time around.

Anyone had both of these on their cars that can chime in the main differences on ride quality, etc? Do megans go low enough to be able to slam the car on 18's with no aero?
