the red one took me about a year all together with interior and all....exterior and engine was about 6 months....I had the body prepped and painted 4 months after I started....I think the longest process was just waiting for parts, looking for parts....and I ended up getting a parts car....swapped the front end but it was still kinda banged up so I had to do a lot of bondoing and filling pieces in710fastback wrote:lol...at first i thought either it's a retro dance or that's a real old school pic. nice cars bro. how long did you take to restore them?
this particular model came with a z20e non-twin spark motor....which they changed to a twin spark motor and then later in 82 they switched to a z22ez210 wrote:what engine is in there.
well I don't know what I can spare....most of the interior parts are shot....and the exterior I am def not looking to get rid of....but most mechannical stuff suspension or whatever I will be replacing....getting rid of the rear end drivetran and engine too....give me a shout honamechannic on aimdorimaster wrote:I have an 83 im working on, BUT runs fine, with no rust!! plans are a vq35 swap which i already have.

its not an s12 though....the s110 has a totally different suspension setup, but I have seen a few people swap in the s12 suspension under the s110Mr1der wrote:woah woah...you got that COMPLETELY backwards.
the AE86 Corolla has a solild axle 4 link suspension where as the majority of the S12 chassis 200SX's use a semi trailing arm IRS.
the worst part is the lack of aftermarket for the S12 BUT you can modify S13 or 14 front coilovers to fit...you essentiall just swap the whole front suspensions out.
the rear end...Megan was dabbling with making coilovers or you can take on the task of swapping in the rear subframe from an S13 which requires new shock towers to be fabricated.
motorswap wise...anything that'll fit in an S13 will clear the S12.
I haven't seen an LS in one yet...might have to do some cutting on the hood...but it'd probably work too.
