Hey guys- Just got a black 03 M45 and so far I'm very happy with my decision. Had a 99 es300 that had 120k with a transmission that was starting to get pretty rough and decided that I should give it up before the trans failed (though it was still sad to say goodbye to it for some reason). I had been searching for luxury sedans and a couple months later I finally decided on an 03 Ls430. This thing was nice but at $30k I would definitely be breaking the bank for it. Well right before I left the house to go get it I decided to check the internet listings one last time and found this M45. This ride was clean as hell and the $20k asking price stopped me in my tracks. So I began researching M45s and thats how i found this site. After reading a bunch of posts and learning how hard/unique this car really is (especially after the mods like), the Ls430 was a faded memory and the M was the best b-day present i've ever had. You guys tearing up yet?

Now i have some questions and I'm a bit of a noob to this car so if I come off like an ignorant bastard I apologize.

1. I'm not into the spoiler and want to take it off? how much work will have to be done cosmetically if i do take it off?

2. i noticed that hesitation off the line. what mods could i do to add some performance

3. I want this thing to be a serious sleeper. can i get it past 400hp? is it even worth the money/ time finding the parts?

thankyou guys. i'll continue reading about the m45 so i'll be a little more knowledgeable for next time

Welcome Welcome... If you see a white M with an "OFFSUIT" plate in Vegas say hi!

1. You may want to try to find a forum member or someone local who would like to trade rear trunks with you... That would be the least expensive way to go... A body shop can "SHAVE" your spoiler, fill in the holes...

Here is an example of the work that needs to be done though from my last car...

2. Hesitation as it gets into the 4K RPM mark?

3. Not too much on the performance side for this car unfortunatly... There are some people trying to change that though

Enjoy!

good lookin out on the trunk switch idea...didn't think about that. you know how much a shave would cost?

as for the hesitation i'm not sure where its at.. i just noticed that when i punched it there was a 1 or 2 second delay and then it took off. i've only been driving it for a day so i'll have to take it out and make note of it so i can be more specific. i'll get back to you on that.

I'm thinking of maybe doing exhaust & headers for my first mechanical mod.....do you think its necessary? any brand suggestion? i'd like it to sound mean without sounding too aggressive.

thanks, i'll keep my eyes open for offsuit

For body work... you can be anywhere from $200 to $600 for shaving the trunk I would guess...

But, with body work... You truely do get what you pay for...

I would not know where to start as far as body shops in Vegas...

Good Luck on getting parts unless you go to Japan or you are a mechanical engineer and create some for us

No, there is basically no bolt on performance mods for our V8. Even if you went to Japan like somebody just said you wouldnt find anything as they dont use the V8 in there Y34 bodies. There is a $10K stroker kit for the V8 but $10K???!!! Good luck with your new ride

lol. Never meant that the es300 was greater than the V-8. i'm just a sentimental bastard thats all............... I want to put on exhaust, headers, cold air intake, and a chip. Is that impossible or can I do it custom?
