Just a couple questions for you guys...

Been doing some maintenance and I have noticed a power steering leak. I have also noticed a bit of mushiness in the steering. I would assume it is the pump, but the leak looks like it is coming from the reservoir. Could the mushiness be caused by a leaky hose?

The truck has a factory bedliner and I have noticed tons of debris under it. To avoid rust I want to rip that thing out and get a nice spray in liner. What is the best way to tear that bad boy out of there?

I have a CEL for the O2 sensor and don't want to shell out $179 bones. Any recommendations?

I am in the process of cleaning out the interior and have pulled most everything out, including the nasty falling out headliner. The carpet seems ok, but the previous owner was a smoker. I have been shampooing it, but still looks kinda nasty. Should I clean it more or just replace it? Any recommendations?

The front bumper cover has been neglected and bugs have eaten the paint a bit. Anyone know about how much a respray might run on that?

that is all for now :P. I will post some pics as soon as it stops raining and I can go back out and start working on it again.

Thanks!

As far as your interior cleanup - there's a seller on eBay with some Frontier carpets and interior parts... http://stores.ebay.com/emgeeparts

Congratulations on your new purchase!

thanks man. I am liking it thus far . I decided just to clean the carpet as much as I could. Used some woolite a rag and a brush, which got most of the crap out. Just gonna let it dry tomorrow and hopefully a nice smelling clean interior.

For a 4 banger it runs like a champ. My daily is an 07 g35 coupe, but this guy can hold his own.

Baking soda will help with the odor. Sprinkle it heavily over the carpet and let it sit for awhile, preferably overnight. Vacuum with a powerful shop vac or take it to the car wash and use one of the really good vacuums. It makes an incredible difference. Febreeze is your friend but make sure the carpet and upholstery are clean and dry before you start spraying that stuff. If the source of the smell is still in the fabric, spraying it with freshener is a waste of time.

Remove screws and start tearing. No one will want to buy it from you anyway so there's no need to be pretty about it. You need to get that thing off of there so you can evaluate the rust forming underneath it.

remove carpet and clean with TUFF STUFF carpet cleaner they have it at wal mart and autozone. Hose off and let air dry and reinstall, then spay febreeze, if that does not kill odors this will. My mom spilled gas in her trunk I put a couple of bowls of kingsford charcoal in the trunk for a few days, no more gas smell. Charcoal is the best filter for many things. Toss the charcoal when done, with gas odors do not use on grill LOL.

think most of your questions have been answered except for the PS one. A leaky hose can cause air to get into the system and affect your PS. The hoses are messy to replace, but not terribly difficult. I would recommend OEM parts if you replace them.

When you refill the PS, jack the truck off the ground so the wheels can turn freely. To bleed air out of the system, remove the cap and work the steering wheel back and forth lock to lock several times. The air will come up to the top in the reservoir.

thanks for all the replies! I am definitely going to replace those power steering hoses this weekend. I think the pump is fine, so I am going to get an alignment and see how that goes.

The carpets are so much better now. I pulled them out and used woolite carpet spot cleaner. Did the same with the seats and then just ripped out the headliner. Going to call nissan tomorrow and order a new one. *I kind of destroyed the old board so I will have to order the whole thing*

I still have not tackled the bed liner. I kind of want to salvage it for now... I am hoping I can pull it out and put it back in temporarily.

Thanks for that rockauto link! I think I will shell out the extra money to get a direct fit. Saw a couple for around 80 bucks.
