Whats up guys?

Just picked up a 2007 G35 Journey yesterday. Came from a 2003 SVT Cobra. The cobra was my DD and I needed something a little more practical at the moment. Coming from the cobra I definitely have some plans to perk up the G35 a little bit so I was just wondering for starters, what kind of intake and exhaust you all recommend. I don't want any exhaust that sounds like a ricer so anything deeper and throaty would be nice. I do have plans to later on down the road do some sort of turbo set up to get a little bit of boost involved in the equation but nothing serious as I don't really want to have to build the motor or anything. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. I did search a few products online already and of course they all say this does this or this does that, so I would rather hear real world opinions.

Thanks,

-Ryan

Congrats on the upgrade! Coupe or Sedan? The Sedans went with a new engine in 2007 if I'm not mistaken, and the coupes in 08 with a G37.

As for exhaust, HKS is the best but most expensive. Greddy and Stillen are a good second choice. I had a Stillen CAT Back in my 05 coupe that I loved. Next would be intake. R2C is what I would recommend hands down. Dry-type filter and quality parts. Next would be high-flow CATS, then a tune. If it is a coupe, the Motordyne MREV2 lower plenum and plenum spacer are excellent mods.

Check out the G-Series FAQ (link in my sig) for more info.

It's the sedan... Needed a family car unfortunately. Thanks for the info. I just came across the thread about the R2C intake. Definitely looks good as well as performs. My buddy just picked up a '08 GT-R and I was asking him if parts for our motors were interchangable, kinda like Fords modular motors. Do you know if we can take say.. The intake manifold from a GT-R and put it on on the 3.5L motor?

Welcome to NICO, I have a '07 sedan as well...

I doubt the GT-R motor parts are interchangeable. If he does updates to his GT-R it would be an interesting test to see if it did. Joe covered most of the basics. +1 on R2C, uprev, and hi-flow cats. I don't believe Motordyne products are too effective on the VQ35HR motor. I'm running stock everything on the sedan (wife's car) so I can't really say if catback gives you anything more than sound.
