hey guys its been a while since I've posted on here but I'm back! I just picked up a 96q black on black last nite. I have a 93 black on black as well. The 93 has a blown motor but is clean as a whistle, the 96 is not as clean so I'm gonna take some parts from the 93. First thing I noticed was the door handles are plastic compared to the stainless steel on my 93. Wes, Will my nico ecu work for my 96w/tcs? Also the heated seats don't work that good anyone had trouble with thise before. The windows roll up very very slowly, could the alternator be going bad? The 96 just doesn't have the umph the the 93 had, could this be to the fact the 96 does not have vtc? Anyone know if the rear bumpers are interchangeable or doors? I really like the subtle non-chrome look from the 90-93 better including tail lights, i think im gonna swap them.

Well I will save you some time and tell you that there is no NICO ecu's currently available for 1996 Q45+, because of OBD2 and other changes in the ECU.

If you want to swap the rear bumpers you will have to swap out the lights as well so it might work.

And all the windows go up slowly or just one?

Whats the maitance history on the Q45's

What cause the motor to blow on the 1993?

well that sucks about the ecu, i had a feeling it wasnt going to work. I guess I have a nico ecu for sale then!! All the windows are very slow not just one. The motor on the 93 had 228,000 miles on it. I went to start it and heard a snap crackle pop then the motor wouldnt even turn over. Pretty sure one of the connecting rods snapped and locked the entire crankshaft cant even turn it with a breaker bar and socket on the crank pulley.

my 93 with 227k miles is cleaner than my 96 with 150k on it.

Presume the 1993 had the metal chain guide update?

Most stress is put on the guides on initial cold crank.
