Just picked my 07 M35 AWD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, everyone......i am a new member to this forum.....just got my M35 today and so far i love the car!!!!!i traded in my 05 TL to get into this car and i must say i am loving all these extra features.......just one question though........i noticed that on the way home i was doing close to 80 but the rpm was already over 3000............at about 70 it reaches the 3000 rpm mark...... i thought i was in 4th gear or something......in my TL, the car didn't hit 3000 rpm mark till i was over 80mph......i really thought that i was in 4th gear so i even try to manual shift but it showed that it was at 5th gear......hmmph.....is this normal????

I have exactly the same car and that is normal. It is probably fair to say that the gearing on the two cars is different. Also you'll notice that the M has a little more get up and go at 80 than the Acura. Have fun!

congrats on your new ride. I just recently picked up the M35 as well. it's a fun car, isn't it. I noticed the same thing with the engine at 3000 rpm at around 75 or so. the car could really use a 6th gear--would help with the low mpg.

heww.....at least i know that there's nothing wrong with the engine.......i love this car but defintely definitely need a 6th gear......
