Many people recomended both the wheels and SPL, so I went for it. 17x7 +35 Hyper Black for my black s13 coupe. Figured HB was a good compromise between Silver and Black. Some Kumho MX in 225/45/17 will be ordered soon, then i need to get some brakes to fill these massive things and some suspension to take advanage of my new found stickiness.

Now I'm not one for wheels sticking out past fenders but you probably could, and should have gone with a wider wheel. Just an opinion...

^Ditto, you should have gone with the 9 inch wide FN's

I know a lot of people have a wider is better philosophy, but from a cost standpoint as well as my future plans for the car, 17x7 works out better. BTW I only order 2 wheels so I could see if I want to go with an 8" in the rear instead of a seven.

Hey mercer, what are you doing posting pics of your car on Something Awful?

I digress,I bought my 17x7's a couple years ago. I didn't want to stagger them. I cant remember what was available at the time but 4 lug sizes lug sucks. Ive got some 215/45/17's st115's on them.

If I had known at the time I couldve put 17x8 +35 on all around with the same size tire I probably would have went with that. They're still good wheels, though aat some point Im going to 5 lug.

SR_Smith's old setup. Anything wider than the 215's will rub coilovers. zerothread?id=95740 zer...age=2

Not 100% positive these will clear Z brakes. Anthony (Structure240sx) had them but you might wanna check to make sure.

zerothread?id=83418(He says it wont clear coils cause at the time he was running 235/45/17's up front)

I just ordered the same wheels....from the same place yesterday. 17x7 all the way around, hyperblack. The only bad thing about the FN's is everyone has em. Also got the G-force sport tires for now.

I didnt want to go with the staggered setup with wider wheels on the rear because it would increase understeer. I might change to 17x8 after I add some power and get a LSD.

Thanks for the links...Now I'm confused though, Structure said the 17x8 +35 didn't clear coils but the 17x8 +25 did??? doesn't a lower offset put the wheel/tire deeper into the wheel well toward the coils??

I've gotta be missing something...

hes just telling Pencil Shavings where to look for offset info, see the post 2 above yours

17x8 +25 will stick out of the wheel well 10mm more than +35, the higher the offset the more it sticks in towards the coil

structure says +35 wont clear but he was running a 235 tire

run a 215/45/17 and youll be fine for clearance Pencil Shavings

i have a question for you though, IveBeenBad, whats a 225/24/17?

Thanks guys. I've read that sticky before and understood it in terms of how the measurements were done...I've been thinking about it backwards when its on the car the whole time though

i agree with seva. even for conservative guys i'd go atleast 17x7 +15 or something. but i guess that isn't a choice being 4 lug or going with 5zigen. not going wider but lower offset is the key. i'd do atleast the 17x8+35 with maybe a sandwich to be conservative atleast.

lol i fixed it... meant 225/45/17.

Just to let people know my reasoning for this wheel:

It fits big brakes and coilovers (coilovers need a spacer but fairly small one)7" wide tires should be more than enough for most people, so unless you make 350hp traction wont be much of an issueFor the money, it's hard to find a wheel that fits better, and anything over this size gets pricey to put rubber on
