i'm tried of every shop that i go to saying that they have a rhd car that they drive street legal and everyone that works in there shop that say they have bought and sold 3-4 rhd cars that were all street legal. if these people even knew to an extent how hard it is to make the an imported car street legal they would crap theirself.

every time i enter a shop they ask what i have and i just tell them. i really don't think it is a big deal, yeah i paid more money but almost all of you guys cars will look better than mine. but they think " i can tell this guy that i have eight rhd cars because i make so much money at this job" now i can see if the boss or if the companies were big but some of these little hole in the wall places barely make the lease money. and the rest are high school kids that are driving a 87 ford tempo.

this was not to offend any one in the forum. i believe that you should give respect were it is do. i have had plenty of beaters in my life and now that i saved the money that i worked hard for to buy this car. this gives the right to any person in a shop to belittle me in this way. if there were as many rhd cars in this state as they say there are, no one would have to import them here. we could start are own export company right out of the state of georgia. to this date not including my own i have seen four rhd cars in the state and only two were able to drive legally on the road, one of which was a rhd conversion. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? AM I WRONG TO THINK THIS WAY?

um no u are not wrong... they're just jealous cause u have a unique car. As long as you're enjoying the ride, then it's worth it to U.

BTW, i've seen many RHD vehicles around my area= mail carriers j/k or not...

We both have 27 posts! Speaking of rhd's from japan does anyone have one for sale? Because I really want to buy one from someone.

I'm interested in buying an rhd s13,s14,s15 that is from Japan. No it is not easy, I have a prospect of one already made legal and then one guy who is an importer that says he can do it. He even says it's posible to do a s15 by using USDM parts with it. I'ts not a fast process either: pay for shipping and insurance then wait, then pay DOT/ EPA legalization and wait. All that on top of the price of a car itself. I even talked to one guy that someone mentioned here who should be able to do it about one of his off road cars and he didn't sound like he really wanted to do the process even though he really wants to sell it.

strat the guy i went through was bobby at http://www.garageparts.net/store.htm he is a very trust worthy person but any car you get from him is for off road use only. how could the guy you were talking about legalize a s15 he does understand that all the lights and glass have to have dot numbers on them and the last time i thought they never made s15 lights or glass that is dot approved. but even if he did somehow the motor is not legal in the us at all. even if you do get to pass emissions it is still illegal because of the motor. not to say anything about you but also don't trust ebay most of the companies are based in japan so if you send money and the car gets stuck in customs, which they can hold forever if they want to, they don't care because you still have to go over there to get the money back. but good luck finding one. try the link. his site is still not finished but get the number and call him oh and tell him i sent you so maybe i can get a discount.

http://www.importconcern.ca brings in S13's to Canada so you could probably buy one from them and modify it to meet DOT standards. Here in Canada all imported cars that are older than 15 years are legal with no modification.

why do you care about RHD? Do you really want to learn how to drive with your right hand and shift with your left?

Do ya? really? In some situations its hard enough to drive with my left on the wheel and right on the stick. Im not stupid, im American. Its not the same and i dont care what people say cause im not here to impress DUDES, i just like some of the track girls and the respect that comes from putting my *** in the seat and driving the way i do sometimes.

I run into this all the time and these guys try to shock me and i say this. BIG DEAL little man. find a puss thats impressed with your verbal antics. Try and act like a real person. Quit acting so fake.

Quote »why do you care about RHD? Do you really want to learn how to drive with your right hand and shift with your left? Do ya? really?[/quote]I am left handed. Most people are righty which means they aim with their right eye as well. I aim and shoot left handed so my dominant eye is the left. A RHD puts me in better overall position of awarenes on the road when it comes to 360 degree sensibility as well as being able to shift lefty. Take into account emergency reaction times and you'll also realize my left hand is not boxed in against the left hand door on a RHD and is able to freely assist in compensating control maneuvers like e-braking and steering.

That being said a RHD closes in on the advantage gap that righties have over me and more closely approximates the sensory field of that a right hand driver in his left hand drive experiences, but you wouldn't even get this unless you are someone who is dominant left. Also this is just a pet peeve but I actually control better on the right hand side of the vehicle when someone else is in the car with me because it's just less distracting, again having to do with being dominant left. Now put that in your priss pipe and puff it. Just more to it then youe bothered to consider, but don't be bothered by it since it isn't how you imagined it not even one little fraction of a bit.

i'm not left handed but ambi. car control comes easier with me using me right hand to steer but thats just me. plus half the time that i've been able to drive has been sitting in the passenger seat. all i've done since sixteen is street race, drag, autox or something along that extent. it has taken a fair share of my vehicle to the scrap yard but i would not have it anyother way. i've just come to the point in my life that if i want it i will get it. i don't care if you guys think i'm a sell out. but if you have the money why not buy what you want. but i'm with strat it gives me an even playing ground.

:bsflag

right hand; left hand. Its really the same unless you have to install some RHD engines in your LHD car = hose routing issues. There are plenty of left handed people (including myself) who do great with the LHD setup. All I see is excuses to spend money and possibly a JDM wannabe trend. Flame me if you want, but you've probably been driving LHD cars for a while now and i bet you did just fine. (people in countries outside of USA exempt from prior statement)

you added that text to your post after just posing a b.s. flag by itself ;) I saw it. That shows you already decided to blow anyone off who has a disagreement with u before thinking it through. I don't want to flame because you'll catch on fire even more than you are, no offense. And even I know if u drop a RB26DET in a 240 that the turbo part would fit more ideally in a RHD. You're not really taking into account my previous post are you. I don't think you were expecting an honest reply that points to aspects of driving that you might decide not to pay attention to or even be aware of, even being left handed yourself so you say. I think it's because you already decided there's no good reason for yourself a long time ago when you decided to bad mouth just anyone and hence there's no good reason to tell you more even though I have a long tolorance for these things.
