Just need some advice

Hello everyone. I found out that it is not my clutch that is messin up it is one of my cylinders. but on to another problem. i have some sort of hole in my muffler or pipe, so i am gonna need a new muffler. well i mite as well go head and get a 2 1/2 Straight pipe and a new muffler. but my question is, is it better to get a straight pipe, and take the catalitic converter off, or should i just do a cat back??? does it matter??? if i get a cat back i heard i loose horse power, is that true????? well thank you all for your help.

well buddy dont take the cat off just yet. If you are haveing an engine problem then fix that first before you worry about the exaust issue. modifing the exaust will only hurt a stock engine. You will lose alot of bottom end but on the up side you gain top end. Thats my problem now is i have a fully tuned engine for a turbo but the exaust that I had before just doesnt do it. I need to get all my parts for my turbo then it will work for me. Dont lose your back pressure thats what is helping you off the line.

You won't lose much bottom end with a 2.5 inch exhaust.

I went with a custom 2.25 inch and from what I can tell I never lost any bottom end - not any that I noticed.

If you get the cat removed get a resonator in its place as the KA sounds like @ss with just a straight pipe and muffler. I've tried it - trust me, its gross. My cat is removed but I have an 18" resonator in its place. Tried it with 2" and 2.25" straight pipe on 2 separate (89 and 90) KAs with just a muffler and no factory resonator and it sounded BAD. (not in a good way)

k, thank you all so very much. yea i think ima just wait. until i get everything because with the hole in my muffler or whatever we just gonna bandage that up. ok also lbrown, where did you get that pic??? i want a shirt like that.
