I feel like such a noob right now asking about this but when it comes to wheels and offsets well... I am. So right now i have some 15x7 bbs rims not to sure of the offset but i need a 5mm spacer to clear my coilovers. I'm looking into going a little bigger and want something like a 16x8. I have the option of 0 or +20 offset. I punched in some number on the offset calc and just want to make sure i understand it.

Does this mean i'll have 15mm more than stock of clearance for my coilovers (megan). Also do i want my rim to stick out an extra 65mm? Im so lost... LOL Should i get the +20 offset wheels? Ya know what... what do other people run for there s13 with 16x8's?

A 16x8 +0 is somewhat of a tough fitment. Alot of guys pull it off with rolled fenders and quite a bit of camber, but with such small wheels its not really my style. You -can- run the +0's, but only if you want to make them work.

The 16x8 +20's will be a relatively mild fit. With normal camber you should be able to pull 'em off with a slight roll. I would personally go this route.

Just for referance, heres an s13 with 16x8 +10.The 16x8 +0 will extend outwards 10mm more.The 16x8 +20 will be sunken in 10mm more.

So a 16x8 +20 is pretty much perfect and will work on all for corners of an s13? They should fit decently flush and still clear my coilovers. Correct?

Correct, the only thing they might not clear is Z32 calipers.

But that totally depends on the wheel. BTW, what wheels are you going to buy?

I'm also looking at 15x8 zero offset and 16x8 zero offset wheels. They are the Sport Max 002 wheels/with black centers.

I'm not running coil overs, just wanting to run lowering springs. Looking at Tein "greens".

If anyone has done this: Which lowering springs did you use and any pics?

Looking at 225/50/15 BFG g-force tires for the 15" wheels.

and

205/40/16 BFG g-force tires for the 16" wheels.

"whiterps13" I love the way your car sits and I love the white color. My wife rolled my white 90 240SX and I just bought back my black 93 240sx 5 spd hatch. Trying to fix everything the 16 year old kid broke in the short time he owned it.

Just found post on next page about Sport Max 002 wheels. Hopefully it will answer my questions.

Thanks,BrianSpringfield MO

Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words.

But, your tire sizes are way off if youre only wanting to run lowering springs. For the 15's, you should be looking at something like a 205/55/15. Without camber adjustment, youre going to need a stretch to fit 'em under stock fenders. Also, a 50 series sidewall will look horrible without -slamming- your car on coilovers.

For the 16's, you should run something along the lines of 205/50/16. A 40 series sidewall is rediculous on anything under 18's.

Good luck with your project. I ended up replacing a bunch of parts that the kid before me put on my car as well. Im only 19, but Id like to think that I have -some- taste when it comes to clean cars.

Your welcome whiterps13.

I'm going with the 16x8's. Still trying to decide on tire size.

I painted my 93 hatch, engine swap, brakes and a bunch of other work to the car. He never washed it, wrecked it and trashed the insides. I'm changing this now.

Yes you do have good taste and your car looks like you take care of it!

I'll also have to check out your Chicago website. I don't really live that far away and hope to attend some events in St. Louis and KC this year.

Thanks,BrianSpringfield Missouri

Im looking into the sportmax 002's as well. They are actually my top choice. Only thing holding me back is the universal lug pattern. I wish i could get them straight 4x114.3. Im going to run 16x8 all the way around either all silver or gold with chrome lip but that is my current color setup so i think ill go all silver this time. I very happy with my q45 brakes and wont need anymore stopping power for what im building my car for. Im sure the q's will clear.
