Hey guys!

I just moved from Los Angeles, CA to the Albany, NY area for a new job.I'd like to meet any 240 owners in the area.Anybody here near Albany?I've got a white 93 S13 Silvia with some mild mods.

Plus, I just got a ticket for my exhaust. F'ING BS!What are the rules about aftermaket exhausts? Is it true you can't have ANY modified exhaust in NY?!?!If that is true, this is F'ed up!

I really doubt that there is a law against modified exhausts. If I had to guess, it's something similar to California, with a db limit.

Welcome to NY. Genreal rule. If you are wondering if it is illegal it probably is. The NY V&T Law states that it must no be louder than stock. Also things to keep in mind, the cops generally give you 20% of the speed limit before they harrass you. And watch out not on the first snow of the year, but the second two or three cause everyone is like "Ok. I remeber how to drive in the snow!" and go careening off in all directions.

Yeah the laws here suck.

If you know any mechanics get them to write a receipt saying that they fixed it and put the stock one back on and show it to the judge. If you don’t know a Mechanics just tip the one at the local gas station. I think that tickets around 180$

Orginally from Syracuse but now live in NC. Ur not allowed to have a muffler larger than 3.5" but they won't measure it. I have a 4.5" nismo and have had no problems, but I also had it silenced so there was no sound. It mostly depends on the local p.d. and how much they feel like being a d!ck that day. NY just changed thier tint laws so check on the NY DMV webpage for more info on that. In Binghamton there is an well know custom shop throught out the US. http://www.dreamakerskustoms.com Check them out also check out rightcoasttuners.com out of Syracuse. They host almost all NY shows.
