Thanks to the neglect of my dad with our 02 pathy...i now have these problems to deal with on my "new" car. i got the SES codes pulled today and here is what i have....

P1140P1147P0138

I know the first is the VTC on the right side....the last is a bad rear O2 sensor and the other says the car is running rich. so yes, it looks like i get to dump a crap load of money into this car i JUST got cause they didnt want me driving around in an old accord. i cant believe i sold my 240. at least i could work on that thing and it was relatively cheap.

well, i just got back from autozone....and pulled the same three codes after replacing the O2 sensor...i need to replace that VTC sensor as well....however, after letting the car sit with the battery cable detached, shouldnt the codes have cleared?

depends on how long it sat unplugged. past experience tells me that a few hours wont do it, usually it has to sit like that overnight to clear them.

i figured that...sooooo...i unplugged it again yesterday afternoon and its been sitting ever since. if i can go get that sensor today, im going to keep it unplugged till i get back and THEN we'll see if it clears.

Wow, that must really suck, being given a great car, but then having to deal with a few problems.

I'm glad my parents never put me through the pain of a free car, but to make it even worse, the check engine light is on. I'd probably have disowned them for that.

that sucks big time. all i can think of to do is go get the codes read again and see what pops up this time.
