I've got a 93 hatch with a freshly stock rebuilt s14 ka24de (with s13 timing components and harness) ARP headstuds, OEM nissan headgasket, megan header, test pipe, exhaust, injen intake, s14 intake mani (no butterflies) a "lack" of emissions components :naughty: , walbro 255 fuel pump, electric fan, s14 seats, B&M short shifter, Tokico blue struts with skunk2 springs, 6k HIDs and some stickers.

now what im looking for is what any of you guys would do next. that being suspension work, motor work, turbo, etcetc. budget is limited but not non exsistant.
there will VERY possibly be a turbo upgrade (stock sr stuff) and some drifting in this cars future. things that would boost performance (even slightly) are a big plus for me. not looking for lots but things to get it ready for boost and to be reliable when it is boosted.

any thoughts, ideas, input, and advice are welcomed and appreciated. critisism(sp?) as well.
thanks in advance.

Z

After the cam swap! I would look into front and rear control arms, sway bars and basic suspension stuff. Get it to handle better and do the breaks, you want to get the power to the ground and still be able stop on a dime! Just my .02!

might end up doing a cam swap in the near future. i know its been argued consistantly, but which cam setup is said to be the "best" for turbo dual cam KAs?

aside from that has anyone on here ever used any suspension arms from megan? i know everyone says megan headers and things are hit or miss but everything ive ever used megan has helb up pretty good for the price. but ive never had any suspension parts by them. any thoughts?

probably doing new rear rotors (circuit sports drilled and slotted and redrilled for 5 lug too ;) )with new hawk pads all around, with some adjustable arms, (rucas, rear toe and traction rods) and will be doing all energy suspension bushings after that. all while collecting turbo parts and getting the motor ready for boost. :mike

also looking for thoughts on wheels, tires and exterior upgrades as well.

thanks

I know for stock cams the best is using 2 exhaust s13 cams which is good for turbo and n/a and is 248 duration. Dont let anyone tell you to use something smaller to"make up for turbo lag" it will just suffocate the turbo. As for megan arms there was a thread on here not to long ago about them and the consensus was that they are very good arms..( I have megan tire rods and battle version rucas and megan makes a far better made quality for half the price) as for drilled and slotted rotors I would just get cross drilled, not slotted. I would also do rear subframe bushings with 300zx es bushings. As for the arms...the only arms you really need is rucas unless your car is very very low.

I rock those cams. but for brakes i disagree, cross drilled rotors crack (especially the ebay kind) under racing conditions. now i will say that i have ever ran cross drilled rotors but i have seen cracked drilled rotors (mostly on ricer hondas). the point is you can do very very very well with good high quality blank vented rotors with good high quality pads. I rock the 180sx fronts (maxima/180/sentra se-r whatever you want to call it) brembro blank vented rotors with ceramic pads. i can wear flat spots in all four tires, very little pedal fade, cool quick. not much dust, not much pad wear, nice looking through my z rims.

Yeah it really depends on who makes the cross drilled rotors. I run brembo cross drilled on my ser and am very abusive to that car and does great.

ok compact i can get with that, most people wont drop that kind of money on rotors. funny tho, spend thousands on a car and wont drop a dime to make it stop.

Lol for real...when you have a quarter mile track with as short of exit as we do you gotta have good brakes.

Brembo blanks drilled & slotted correctly in a CNC machine will not give you any trouble. I sold 400+ pairs of these and NEVER even had a single rotor returned for cracking.

They should be cheap too, $90-$135 a pair depending if you are Z32 or 240SX. That used to include drill/slot and redrill lugs to 4 lug 114 pattern, silver cad coating.

Other top quality rotor brands like BMI or Mountain (Japan) will be fine as well.

Thin cheap ebay rotors, or cheap ones from Autozone - well that is a different story....
