Hey I am looking forward to being a part of this community and learning the inside and out of 240s before I buy my first one. There is one I am looking into buying but it could be a bit steep price-wise. Let me know if you think this is good:

1993 Nissan 240sx - $1350

5 speed155k miles

Seller replaced brake shoes and rotors all the way around about a year ago.

Does this seem like a good starter car or should I look for something else?

^^I'm with him. Rust is a major concern with these cars. The mileage is a little high but for the price it's not a bad deal at all.

I would check frame rails, suspension pieces, common places for rust, start the car when its cold...

If it passes all of these tests, I would spend the ~$100 to get a mechanic to check it out just to be sure.

Good luck! Seems like a sweet deal, some clean shells go for ~$1000

Heh, alright. Thanks for the heads-up. I don't know if I should wait and invest in a 240 later on, after I have built up enough knowledge about them, or go for this instantaneously.

Note: This will be my very first car.

just make sure to have it checked out and you should be fine. like someone said earlier, make sure to start it up cold. if it's warm when you get there, walk away. also, make sure to warm it up to full operating temp and drive it a good bit.
