Hi,

Well, actually my mom did. We've been searching for a car for her over the past several days, and were leaning towards either the yaris, corolla, civic, and fit. I own a 03 maxima, and didn't even think about nissan until I really started doing my research.

The main thing for my mom, is that I wanted something that would have the best features at the lowest cost since she doesn't do too much driving. It just seemed that nothing came close to the versa.

I wanted to get one with the abs brakes, but had to get the power package (according to the site), and after checking all the inventories in new york I figured on a 3-4 week wait. And I didn't think that we would be able to talk about the price. So I just wanted to bring my mom to look at it. But to our delight, the dealer we went to had one coming in that night. So we got a silver/charcoal int. versa s with power package, abs, splash guards, and mats for $16000 OTD. Of course tax killed us in new york, and then we had to spend more on the alarm $600, but i had a friend who had nissan denying him work on his stereo because they blamed electrical issues from an aftermarket alarm. But whatever, my mom paid it in full so no interest there.

On a sad note, we were supposed to look at the car in the evening, but went earlier because her dog was hit by a car and died. We wanted to get the car so that she could spend more time with him. The hatchback would have been especially great for him. Since we both took the day off, I wanted to keep her mind off things and try to move forward, so i hope that at least having the car will mean she can get out on her own a bit more. And hopefully, when she feels better, she'll be able to enjoy the versa with a new furry friend!!

So it's so great to have this forum, and suggestions for the new car?!Thanks!
