2010 Murano.

Got hitch and wire harness from E trailers. Less than 200 for everything.Hitch is Drawtite.

Did not fit at first, Bracket was bent. E trailer phone support told me that they get a little bent when stacked at warehouse and or shipping. Told me to put in bench vice and bend it back. Worked great. Installed it withoug dropping exhaust. Wire harness was very easy using video showing how to take interior apart.

Sure beats 1k at the dealer.

No photos other than the ones I took to show E trailers the fit issue.

E trailers has video on their web site that shows the install of the hitch and wire harness on an 09.

Only thing I did different than them was no need to drop the exhaust, you can jocky the thing around the exhaust tips and bumper cover. Held one end up with my knee and other with my hand and installed the bolts. I used Locktite Blue on the threads to give them a little more holding power. I also used hole punch instead of cutting an x in the rubber drain plug. Used small leather punch and this makes very tight seal around the one wire that I ran through it. I kept the 4 pin inside the car and will run under hatch when needed.

The Drawtite wire harness blows away nissans and is half the cost. It is a much safer system since you have to run wire to battery with its own fuse. It prevents volt overload on cars electrical system. Of course load depends on how many lights your trailer has so in most cases the extra wire is overkill.

A few of us did use the factory white power lead when installing the etrailer harness. The factory power lead is protected by a 30amp fuse under the hood. We then installed a 20amp in the back as well. This way if compromised it would pop prior to ever overloading the factory wiring/circuit etc.

Well done on your own install! This is definitely one of those that anyone with a few tools could easily save some money on.

Cheers

If you can customize it in a good things, a good trailer hitch cover can compensate all the things that your vehicle may need. Brands such as alfred hitch cover and the like would have been a good thing to have in order to compensate your needs here. I hope that all will be well after this.
